Accomplish your fitness resolutions by trying out one of these upcoming themed marathon runs, from Hello Kitty to Sesame Street

There has been a rise in adorable themed marathons such as the My Melody x Kuromi Luna Fiesta, which took place in September 2025

While conventional marathons like Standard Chartered Marathon might be daunting for newcomers, we’ve found five other marathons with shorter distances and cuter merchandise to soothe your post-running pains

1. Baby Shark

Top of the list is a popular event that took place in 2024, which is the Baby Shark Run. The run will take place on 17 January 2026 from 6.45am to 10am, at Marina Barrage

You can opt for either the 2km or 4km categories, and enjoy freebies such as jerseys, medals, race bibs, and more. Tickets start from S$68, and registrations are open until 16 January 2026.

2. Capybara Run

Perhaps you might be too old for Baby Shark. Well, then you should check out the Capybara Run! It’ll be taking place on 17 January 2026 from 7am to 10am at Marina Barrage

Similar to Baby Shark, you’ll get to enjoy free jerseys, medals, cardholders, and more exciting merchandise. There’ll be 2km and 4km run categories to choose from, and tickets start from S$58

For children under 12 who are raring to join, please convince an adult to join with you in order to be eligible. Don’t forget to register here and have fun with capybara decor!

3. Hello Kitty

This is for our fitness Sanrio fans who missed out on My Melody x Kuromi Luna Fiesta—good news! An upcoming Hello Kitty Marathon is happening on 18 January 2026 from 7am onwards, at Marina Barrage

While you can opt into either the 2km or 4km categories, you’ll also be entitled to the freebies package. Each package includes free jerseys, medals, drawstring bags, and much more!

4. Sesame Street

Calling all Elmo and Cookie Monster fans, we found the perfect marathon for you—the Sesame Street Run will be taking place on 12 April 2026, from 6.30am onwards at Marina Barrage

Unlike the rest of these marathons, the Sesame Street Marathon offers three run categories such as 2km, 4km, and 6km. If you’re not much of a runner, that’s okay, as this marathon is beginner-friendly enough that it welcomes all levels of participants to walk/run in the marathon. 

You can even form teams or duos for exclusive freebie packages, which include jerseys, medals, face towels, and more! Tickets start from S$58, and you may register here

5. Crayon Shin-Chan

Last but not least, everyone’s nostalgic childhood character—Crayon Shin-Chan Run. It will be held on 3 May 2026 from 6am to 11am at OCBC Square. 

Similar to the Sesame Street Run, there will also be three run categories to choose from—3km, 5km, or 10km. Each category will be given its own tailored freebies package, including free jerseys, medals, foldable fans, race bibs, and more.
