We discovered the newly opened AMOR restaurant, bringing in creative Spanish cuisine to Amoy Street!

We’ve seen Medusa Osteria Romana, Tutto by Da Paola, Fortuna Italian Trattoria, and many more European cuisine eateries make their debut in Singapore in the past few months, and it doesn’t seem like it will stop anytime soon. This time, we discovered the newly opened AMOR restaurant, founded by a duo who met during their stint in Olivia and Noa Lounge by Olivia.

Creating an intimate setting and warm atmosphere reminiscent of the nightlife atmosphere of Barcelona, here is how AMOR stands out from the rest.

Lunch sets

Serving up value leisure lunch sets ($38++), enjoy AMOR’s sharing tapas, a main course of your choice, and dessert

Tapas to indulge in include the introductory Pa Amb Tomàquet, smoky pork sausage Chorizo Bellot, Jamón Ibérico Bellota, creamy ham Jamón Ibérico Croquettes, and light Green Salad

As for the mains, you can choose from Gambas Arroz Meloso—classic Spanish garlic prawns with smoked potato foam and sweet paprika, Salmon A La Planchi—steamed fresh mussels in butter sauce, or Pasta Puntalette—creamy pasta with parmesan cheese, green asparagus, and sautéed portobello mushrooms.

Of course, we can’t forget dessert. From AMOR’s Basque Burnt Cheesecake, you won’t just taste something sweet or creamy, but a hint of saltiness from the restaurant’s addition of blue cheese into the mix. A vegetarian option to AMOR’s lunch sets is also available, so no one gets to miss out on their goodness!

Creative dishes

Putting the lunch menus aside, AMOR is also filled with innovative dishes, specifically using ingredients from the Mediterranean Sea. Highlight dishes from this creative bank consist of the Happy Eggggg (S$18), Tea Smoked King Salmon with Avruga Caviar (S$34), and Pulpo De Galicia (S$32)

Using a simple egg as the centre of the dish, the Happy Eggggg comprises a 65°C onsen egg with truffle sabayon, pumpkin coulis, crispy jamon, and more—all served in a martini glass.

Further flexing the restaurant’s creativity, AMOR’s Tea Smoked King Salmon with Avruga Caviar imbues Salmon from Norway with a traditional Chinese cooking method, alongside silky vichyssoise, Avruga caviar, and drizzles of parsley and wasabi oil

For those who prefer the classics, the Pulpo De Galicia features grilled octopus ‘a la plancha’, where tender octopus is served on a bed of silky smooth potato, sweet corn and sobrasada sofrito

To end off the generous feast, AMOR’s Hazelnut & Almond Lava Cake ($18) is a must-try, featuring a warm delight made from hazelnut and almond praline, with a rich and flowing centre served straight from the oven.

With the number of Spanish, French, and Italian eateries appearing in Singapore, AMOR surely isn’t one to miss out on, especially with dishes as creative as its peers!
