With the rise of sober raves sponsored by Beans&Beats and live performances taking place at Gen Z hangout locations, Singapore’s music scene has grown dynamically.
Since I count myself as Gen Z too, it should come as no surprise that we’re all incredibly excited for Baybeats, the biggest local music festival, which will take place from 30 October 2025 to 2 November 2025.

How can you not be stoked for Baybeats this year? Envision a perfect evening outdoors enjoying the calming melodies, wailing guitar riffs, and harmonious singing, all in one place.
It’s a series of nights chock-filled with non-stop live performances and good vibes, all centralised within Esplanade. Just the thought of it makes me buzz with excitement.
And the biggest takeaway for this year is the extensive and talented line-up that participants can expect for 2025. Meet the Adams, an Indonesian indie band that has been capturing their fans’ hearts since 2004.
One of their debut songs, Konservatif, was featured in an Indonesian film, Janji Joni, which caused the band’s rise to fame.
Sadly, the band took a hiatus in early 2006. Apparently they can’t stay away for too long, because they reunited back in 2014 (woohoo, the Adams are back together, yay).
Now, they’ve been dominating the region with their tunes, capturing hearts and luring people to be devoted to them. From Kuala Lumpur’s Localfest in 2025 to Jakarta’s We The Fest (WTF) in 2024, they’re expanding their influence outside of Indonesia itself.
Just writing this piece while bobbing my head to Timur, their viral single, counts me as a fan already!

Next up on the list is Silica Gel, a Korean indie band from Ansan city. They’re not your average, typical Korean Pop (K-Pop) bands.
It’s like comparing apples and oranges; both are wonderful in their own unique ways, but Silica Gel’s musicality and genres are very different from those of the A-lister K-Pop acts.
Yet, they are undoubtedly familiar with K-Pop bands — in 2024, they collaborated with Rap Monster (RM) together on a cover of “LOST!”. The track belongs to RM’s solo album, “Right Place, Wrong Person”.

You gotta check out SHINSEINA! Born and bred in Singapore, SHINSEINA is known for their progressive metalcore tunes.
The band members are all brilliant geniuses who have harmoniously perfected the fusion of metal and indie altogether. Talk about mixing two polar opposite separate genres into a profound new sound!
If you happened to be one of their devoted fans, then you would’ve caught their most recent show last month. Hosted by Red Suns Production, the band sang their latest hit, Hell and Wonder, along with other well-listened-to tracks.

The best part about Baybeats is the free entry for all, and there’ll be various stages scattered around Esplanade itself.
Be sure to take note of the timeslots and venues ahead of time; you can find out more about the scheduling here.
Attendees are advised to bring earplugs, but, hey! Life’s a concert, and I’ll be at the barricade for SHINSEINA and Silica Gel.
