My favourite go-to candy for a good perk me up was always the Warheads Sour Candy. But these days it’s become less popular and increasingly harder to find, especially with the myriad of candy choices available. Fortunately, this hole-in-the-wall candy shop, Bee Events, in Depot Heights Shopping Centre is a hidden gem for old-school candies and other lesser-known sweets from the US.
Think Airheads, Jolly Rancher, Nerds and even Swedish Fish. If all these names bring back nostalgic memories, you’re probably of a certain age group, and will be happy to see what Bee.events has stocked on their shelves!
Starting with the Airheads (yes this is actually the name of the candy and not an insult to anyone). They have a pretty wide selection of flavours from grape, to blueberry, and even atropical blend. There’s also the Airhead Ropes and Mini available in store, along with a wide selection of candy like Jolly Ranchers and Nerds.
90’s kids will fondly remember their primary school days when Warheads Sour Candy dominated the candy scene. Thankfully, you can relive your primary school days with the shop’s selection of Warheads candy. They even have the sour spray for you to relive those fun times.
The candy shop also has some pretty interesting finds. The selection of Juicy Drop had me really intrigued. The range includes the Juicy Drop Chewy Gummies & Sour Gel, Juicy Drop Gummy Dip N’ Stix, and even the Juicy Drop Remix.
Other unique finds include the Harry Potter Jelly Slugs, Icee Squeeze Candy, Krispy Kreme Jelly Beans, Smarties Squeeze Candy, and the iconic Toxic Waste.
Apart from selling an array of old-school candies, the store also sells old-school cotton candy on the stick for just S$1. But of course, you can also find cotton candy packed into plastic containers for S$2.50.
Finding the shop might be a little challenging as it is tucked away in a little corner of the shopping centre. According to TikTok user @naptimesensei, the candy shop is located beside the escalator near the NTUC Fairprice.
