Instead of taking the bus, why not try staying in one?
If you’re making plans for a fun and unique weekend getaway, look no further than Changi Village, where an upcoming Bus Resort is in the works!
Located next to Changi Village Hawker Centre and a short walk away from Changi Beach Park and the Changi Point Ferry Terminal, there’s no shortage of things to do, be it having a beach day or exploring Pulau Ubin’s scenery.
This newly announced project will oversee 20 decommissioned SBS buses being transformed into hotel rooms — now that’s different.
Even though the concept of repurposing old buses and trains into hotels is not uncommon around the world, the Bus Resort is the first of its kind in Singapore. The resort is part of a project to rejuvenate Changi Point, and promises visitors a sustainable yet luxe staycation.
Each bus is transformed into a 28 sqm hotel room decorated with bamboo screens, a plush bed, and what’s more, even your own personal bathtub, complete with air-conditioning and flat-screen TVs where you can watch cable TV.
Aesthetically furnished with lanterns, lush plants and soft lighting, each room is designed for maximum comfort while still keeping the feel of the bus itself. Don’t worry about privacy — buses are evenly spaced from each other, ensuring plenty of room for guests to host their own gatherings.
And for those who want to have a barbeque, every room also comes with your very own 15sqm BBQ area and outdoor patio. Wellness retreat seekers will also be pleased to know that the resort will also host yoga, pilates, and other relaxing activities to unwind on your staycation, as well as curated tours around the area by WTS.
Prices are estimated to start from S$300-400 per night. Stay tuned for more details to plan your future staycation when the resort opens in April 2023!
