“Smooth like butter like a criminal under cover”

That’s probably the first thing that comes to your mind when you see the word “butter” — that, or an actual stick of butter.

There’s a new cafe in town that also goes by the name Butter serving  hearty bagels, croissantwiches, butter jacks and more!

Located inside Asia’s first surf-snow-skate destination at Somerset, Butter is TRIFECTA’s in-house cafe and it is run by the folks from the wildly popular Two Men Bagel House — so you know the food is definitely gonna be good.

On the menu, you can expect to find a selection of sweet, and savoury bagels. The bagels are baked fresh in-house daily by Two Men Bagel House.

One of the best combinations in the world is a plain bagel and butter. There’s just something about this simple pairing that is so delicious.

Over at Butter, they have a Butter Flight (S$10) that comes with three unique house butters for you to pair with either a plain bagel, pancake or croissant. Complete the meal with a hot cup of coffee and you’re ready to start your day.

Everyone loves a good kaya toast and soft boiled eggs combo. Well, Butter has their own rendition of the classic breakfast set, aptly called Heritage (S$15). The cafe swopped the regular toast bread for a croissantwich stuffed with salted Gula Melaka butter, pandan kaya, and pastry creme.

Instead of the usual soft-boiled eggs, the cafe added a hanjuku egg into the croissantwich. It’s definitely a modern take on the classic kaya toast set that also happens to be vegetarian

One of the items on the menu that I’m most excited to try is the Pumped Butter Jack (S$15). In case you’re wondering, Butter Jacks are the cafe’s specialty fried pancake rolls — doesn’t this sound so intriguing?

The dish comes with smoked maple butter, fried pumpkin, halloumi, sumac red onion, and garlic aioli — just looking at the ingredients alone is making my tummy growl.

For something that’s a little heartier, the Lox N’ Roll (S$15) is another unique dish worth trying. It has garlic butter, smoked salmon, slaw, pickled cucumbers, capers and sumac red onion salad.

But of course, you can’t visit a Two Men Bagel House establishment without ordering their signature savoury bagels like the Sup’ Beef (S$20).

It has caramelised onion butter, sauteed mushrooms, a sunny egg, sitting on top of a thick and juicy Hamburg Au Jus and a nicely melted double cheddar cheese slice. All that deliciousness sandwiched between two lightly toasted bagels — the perfect post-workout meal.

Other savoury bagels on the menu include the Sweet Chicks (S$18) and Poo Bear (S$19). They all sound so good, it’s hard to pick a favourite.

Drink-wise, you can look forward to chugging down a nice cup of coffee as well as other unique creations like Creamy Thai Tea (S$8) or even the CBC (S$9) which is a cookie butter, caramel, and biscoff milkshake of sorts.

There’s also a selection of refreshing teas, kombucha, and even wellness drinks on the menu.

Butter officially opens on 28 October 2023, so save the date if you wanna have first dibs to try these yummy bagels, croissantwich, butter jacks and more!
