Alternatively, you can seek these Toy Doctors for advice on how to better care for your toys, tailored to its fabric, age, and stuffing.

Available at the centre daily, consult the Toy Doctor from anytime between 10am and 6pm. 

Plush Customisation

On the more intricate and detailed side of the Toy Doctor’s services, you can customise accessories or costumes for your plushies by contacting the centre! 

Whether you’re looking for a matching couple plushie look with your partner, or an iconic costume to dress your toy in, the Toy Doctor is here to save the day! 

Plush Rejuvenation Workshop 

Plush rejuvenation workshops (S$50) are also available at the centre. During the 1-hour-30-minute session, learn how to repair, clean, and care for your plush and give them a second chance of life. 

Participating in this workshop also means that you can bring any plush of your choice (with a polyester stuffing and maximum height of 40cm) to work on, resulting in a glowed-up companion to bring home. 

Be a Toy Doctor for a Day

Curious about what it’s like to be a toy doctor? Join the centre and become a Toy Doctor for a day (S$35). 

Receive a tour of the back of house treatment room, master simple sewing skills to restore plushies, and be certified as a Junior Toy Doctor at the end of the day!

Build Your Own Plush

Alternatively, build your own plush (S$35) by stuffing, hand-sewing, and personalising your new fluffy companion. True to the name of building your own plush, sew a unique heart onto your new friend, and receive a birth certificate to mark bringing it to life.

From epic productions to engaging works of art, SIFA 2026 invites all to explore and experiment with new forms of arts.

With five festival pillars: Festival Stage, Festival House, Festival Village, Festival Play!Ground, and Festival Late Nites—each area will allow you to experience the arts on your own terms—filled with free performances, public installations, and communal spaces. 

At the heart of SIFA 2026 is the long-awaited return of the Festival Village at the Empress Lawn extending to the Anderson Bridge. Serving as a free and open-access hub for gathering and play. 

Return of the Festival Village 

Inspired by the festive spirit of the 1990s and early 2000s, the Festival Village will bring together indoor and outdoor performances, interactive installations, parades and engaging experiences that extend from late night into the early morning. 

Highlighted works include: Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming《记忆游泳池》by The Theatre Practice—a work which transforms the Festival Village into a communal music and movement space; RUPTURE by The Observatory—a dawn sound installation drawing on seismic research, volcanic activity and mythology, and Makan Culture at the Festival Market—an interactive celebration of Singapore’s beloved dishes through puppetry, music and theatre.

A Festival for All

Building on the positive public response to last year’s SIFA Pavilion at Bedok Town Square, SIFA’s Festival Play!Ground at Nexus, SIFA brings two large-scale and high-impact artistic experiences from the Festival Village to Nexus, Punggol Digital District. 

Meet Noli Timere, a performance as the result of a five-year collaboration between Guggenheim Fellowship recipients Rebecca Lazier and Janet Echelman. Featuring a specially designed, voluminous net sculpture by eight multidisciplinary performers, be sure to catch the soaring aerial performance featuring artists suspended 25 feet in the air! 

From Singapore to the World: A Stage Without Borders

Local commissioned productions and international works will also take the stage to bring together an array of collaborations and culture. 

From spotlighting homegrown cultural icons such as Jacintha Abisheganade, to reimagining classics such as Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler by the National Theater Company of Korea, to productions that incorporate holographic technology and stunning stage illusions, SIFA 2026 opens up multiple pathways and platforms for audiences to rediscover the joy and significance of coming together through art.

Over the festival’s 15-day period, each day will be filled with breathtaking productions, installations, and photo spots to remember the occasion by. 

And while many of its programmes are free, ticketed programmes can be bought with a 20% early-bird discount, till 13 April 2026. Additionally, selected programmes are eligible for the SG Culture Pass, with prices starting from S$20.

The pop-up, located in the museum’s lobby, showcases five exclusive T-shirt designs (S$29.90 for adult sizes, S$19.90 for kid sizes) created in collaboration with local artists Knuckles & Notch, Gabriel De Souza, SONG, HAFI, and Nikkei. Each design reinterprets artefacts from the museum’s collection, transforming the historical objects into stylish, wearable art.

Admire artefacts such as the candlebra, or dancing woman pitcher from the Maritime Trade Gallery, or palampore and elephant head bangles from the Court and Company Gallery. You can learn about their history and significance and find a deeper appreciation for their reimagined forms on the graphic T-shirts, which you can get as a meaningful souvenir.

Spotlighting a few, Gabriel De Souza’s artwork draws inspiration from Ukiyo-e, a genre of Japanese woodblock painting, surrealism, and elements of folklore, which shine through in his vivid and whimsical design. While SONG, who blends graffiti with storytelling, incorporates gestures and symbolisations in his artwork to convey a narrative through his illustration. 

Beyond the pop-up retail experience, select UNIQLO UTme! outlets will also allow customers to purchase and customise T-shirt designs. Purchases from these outlets also include complimentary access to special exhibitions and selected museum areas, limited to 100 redemptions per month until 30 July 2026.

If you find yourself mesmerised by the designs, you can also score a free printmaking workshop with one of the artists, Knuckles & Notch. It is not a ticketed event, so all you have to do is show up! All dates and timings for the workshop can be found here.

Sakura @ Gardens by the Bay

Sakura returns for its 11th edition at Gardens by the Bay, accompanied by adorable Sanrio characters: Hello Kitty, My Melody and more. This year, Sakura adorns the Flower Dome with 30 varieties of cherry, peach and plum blossoms, surrounding landscapes inspired by Ishikawa’s historic districts. 

Wander through streets reminiscent of a geisha quarter, and enter a Edo-era samurai residence modelled after the home of a prominent samurai family in Kanazawa. Within its walls, admire traditional crafts from Ishikawa like lacquerware, gold leaf, dyed kimono textiles and other regional arts.

At Nonyanita Café, heritage Peranakan dishes take on an on-the-go form, such as grain bowls, sandwiches, soups, and salads. Think along the lines of Chicken Rendang Sandwiches, Assam Fish Grain Bowls, and Papaya & Prawns Titek Soup, where nostalgic Peranakan flavours are expressed through common café staples.

Scan-n-Discover is an interactive display where you can scan any book’s QR code and watch the screen curate relevant physical and eBook recommendations, available for immediate borrowing. 

Infinite Shelves

A new kind of visual illusion, Infinite Shelves stem from physical bookshelves extending into interactive displays offering NLB’s eBook collections, providing endless options of books for patrons’ next read.

Digital display screens around the library have also been enhanced to feature audiobooks selected by NLB librarians. You can view, access, and borrow these digital audiobooks beyond the limited physical copies by scanning the QR codes with the NLB Mobile App.

Sound Cave

At the Sound Cave on Level 2, the cave immerses whoever enters into Bukit Batok’s serene environment. Within this cave-like space, settle into the open seating area and enjoy this one-of-a-kind installation. 

Additionally, the library is set to collaborate with students from the LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore, to design future sound installations at the Sound Cave.

Time Caverns

A space for you to relive Singapore’s history, Time Caverns offer a multisensory journey through Bukit Batok’s history. From its pre-WWII village days to life under the Japanese Occupation, and its subsequent evolution to a modern town.

Discover the stories of Bukit Batok through the National Library and the National Archives of Singapore collections, featuring images, sounds and even oral history recordings. 

Sound Library 

Showcasing sounds of Singapore from the National Library and the National Archives of Singapore collections, browse and listen to selected clips from the music and sound collections at the sound booths, including audio from the Singapore Memories initiative. 

Each booth offers four themed albums — Festivals & Arts, Community, Environment, and Animals, and are accompanied by simple contextual information for you to understand its origins. 

From now to 30 September 2026, all Singaporeans are also invited to share their own photos, sounds or stories about Bukit Batok through https://go.gov.sg/bbmemories and help create a wider range library. 

Ripples Circle

At the Ripples Circle on Level 2, you’ll find reading spaces surrounded by moving kinetic art. These installations model after the process of gravel raking in Zen gardens, designed to encourage mindfulness, to enjoy books in a peaceful setting.

Extended hours 

Bukit Batok Library will also offer extended hours beyond the regular library hours at selected areas, with access enabled by gantries at entrances across all levels. Simply scan your library member QR code from the NLB Mobile App at the gantries, and enjoy the empty library to yourself. 

From new immersive art spaces to innovative ways to recommend new titles, the new Bukit Batok Library feels like a whole different dimension—one that you can’t miss out on.

This year, they are bringing back the 10th edition of their flea market with over a hundred vendors, selling goodies ranging from food to fashion and more. Although they are still finalising the final line-up of sellers featured in their next pop-up, here are some vendors you’ll likely find there based on past events. 

Don’s Oven

Making an appearance in the recent Eid core edition of Me-You Market, Don’s Oven is a vendor we hope to see return. Selling halal-certified desserts, their goodies carry a home-baked flair that’s simple yet tasty. Some of their more popular products include Creme Brulee, Banana Pudding, and Brownies. It’s a perfect sweet treat to help you recharge mid-shopping spree.

The Wicker Club

Spicing things up, The Wicker Club specialises in risqué scents that are definitely not PG. Although their daring brand concept may draw in a few gasps, it’s the perfect amount of out-of-hand humour to appeal to a younger demographic. 

Made to Bloom

This is a vendor that’s going to seriously threaten our wallet. Made to Bloom is a homegrown body and hair care store that focuses on effective and natural hair loss solutions. Some of their most popular products include the Anti-Hair Loss Ginger Shampoo (S$49.90)  and Roots Revival Herbal Hair Growth Essence (S$59.90). Championing a record of stellar results from previous customers, anyone who struggles with sensitive skin, hair thinning, hair loss, or eczema should definitely look into their products. 

This pop-up is definitely an especially inspiring one as the Me-You Market struggles to bounce back after losing its Instagram account. However, having returned more chaotic and energetic than ever, make sure to give them your support by checking out their pop-up this May!

Upon heading down to the restaurant, we felt like stepping into a different vicinity, surrounded by a minimalistic interior and a peaceful atmosphere. 

Accompanying Seoul and So’s attractively calm vibe is an even more enticing lunch set menu. During lunchtime, Seoul and So offers a special lunch set menu, where you’ll be served a meat of your choice, a noodle or soup dish, dessert, and rotational banchans (side dishes). 

Meats

From their S$35 Set Lunch, choose between Jeju Pork Belly and Iberico Pork Collar as your main.

The pork belly’s chewiness stood out more than anything, and consisted of a balanced meat to fat ratio. Adding on to the pork’s chewiness, it was also juicy when bit into—which isn’t the easiest thing to do when pork belly can be overcooked quite easily. 

As for the Iberico Pork Collar, we found that it tasted closer to beef than actual pork! While we were a little skeptical of having our meat grilled for us, trying the Iberico Pork Collar reaffirmed that you can trust the employees to take the wheel. 

Alternatively, top-up S$10 to opt for Short Ribs (USDA Prime) or Rib Fingers (Aus Wagyu 6/7) as your meat instead. 

The Short Ribs can be a little tough to chew, but compensates by being packed with flavour and juice! We would also recommend dipping the beef in salt, or wrapping it in spicy perilla leaf when given as a banchan.

Similar to Short Ribs, the Rib Fingers tasted best when accompanied by kimchi or wrapped in perilla leaf. The highlight difference, however, would be the fact that the Rib Fingers were much softer. 

Post-mains

On to Seoul and So’s post-mains, also known as its menu’s noodle or soup dish, take your pick among Kimchi Jjigae, Doenjang Jjigae, Mul Naengmyeon, and Naeng Kalguksu.

Comprising beef slices, cucumber, springy noodles, and icy broth, the Mul Naengmyeon is sure to cool you off amidst Singapore’s sweltering heat. The Naeng Kalguksu on the other hand, was a new flavour to us. 

Garnished with perilla seeds, the Naeng Kalguksu carried a strong aroma of nuttiness and earthiness. 

As for soup dishes, the Kimchi Jjigae seems to be well adjusted to the Singaporean palate. Not as spicy as the Kimchi Jjigae you would find in South Korea, but enough of a kick to give you the satisfaction of spicy stew. 

On to our unanimous favourite post-main, Seoul and So’s Doenjang Jjigae is a must-try for all first-timers to the restaurant. An extremely flavourful and saturated stew, filled with generous portions of enoki mushrooms, beef brisket, greens, and potatoes. Complemented with a bowl of white rice, we knew we would come back again after taking a first bite of the stew. 

At the end of the meal, you’ll be given the option to conclude your lunch with a cup of ice cream alongside a coffee or tea. 

Although we were only able to try out Seoul and So’s lunchtime menu, the restaurant is decked out with more quality meat, authentic Korean dishes, and appetising side dishes. 

So if you’re ever looking for a date activity and dinner date spot, the wonderful premise of National Gallery Singapore has it all in one place!

More than just retail, the Disney Breakfast Besties Plush Pop-up brings your “breakfast order” to life through a fully immersive journey– complete with an interactive ordering, cooking, prepping, and finally, take-away process. 

Start your breakfast adventure by filling out an order form, similar to how you would at a Nanyang Kopi store. You can choose four items from a menu that features themed breakfast plushies, such as a Mickey Kopi or Teh, Chip and Dale eggs, Pooh steamed baos, Mickey baked goods, and more. 

Next, bring them over to their preparation station and watch the magic happen. Help fan away billowing steam as the chef opens a steamer to take out a fluffy Piglet bao, or catch them pulling your Mickey baked goods out of an oven to package up. 

If you ordered Mickey Kopi or Teh, you’ll witness them “long-pouring” it before transferring it into the old-school kopi plastic bags. Mickey Sandwiches will be put in the sandwich press, and you can help salt your food to taste. Once the breakfast items are well-seasoned and prepped, the chefs will put them in a Disney-themed takeaway box for you to collect.

Upon receiving your order, head over to the dining area, where you can enjoy your new plushies and snap some cute shots with them. Join a mix-and-match game and stand a chance to win a customisable zipper case. 

However, do note that this interactive element is only available during weekends and public holidays till 5 April 2026. The full experience is S$64, including the four plushies. So grab your besties this weekend and go cook up some cuteness!
