We’re all well familiar with the different pet and animal cafes in Johor Bahru by now. This new dog cafe in JB is about to take things to the next level at this two-storey building with a massive outdoor play area, swimming pool, over 40 dogs and so much more!
This place is none other than Chow Q 2.0, and if you think this name sounds familiar, that’s because they’re the same team behind the popular Chow Q cafe. The new two-storey pet cafe is also located in Mount Austin and boasts a massive playground for both animals and humans — we’re not kidding about this.
The cafe is also home to over 20 giant poodles which means everyone gets a chance to cuddle with these gentle giants. Don’t let their size fool you because poodles are actually pretty affectionate creatures, so don’t be shy to get up close to them and give them cuddles!
You’ll also find plenty of other breeds of dogs here including poofy pomeranians, giant huskies, and my favourite, corgis. There’s really gonna be plenty of tails wagging around the entire cafe and you’ll never run out of dogs to cuddle with.
The name of the cafe was inspired by the dog breed Chow Chow — you know the ones that look like giant cuddly bears? Of course, you’ll be able to cuddle with some chonky chow chows here too.
Apart from cuddling with the fluffy doggos, there’s also a swimming pool where you can bring your own pets down for a little dip. Come by night time and the entire space is illuminated by fairy lights which exudes resort vibes — perfect for a chill evening.
On the second floor, you’ll find the in-house pet store where you can stock up on pet supplies. And, if you’re experiencing some separation anxiety from the doggos downstairs, you can even adopt a cute lil pup from the pet store too!
Unlike any other pet cafe, the (human) food and drinks selection is truly next level. Think: hotpot and bubble tea. That’s right, along with your usual cafe grub, you can also enjoy a nice hotpot session with a ton of ingredients to choose from.
Bubble tea fans will not be disappointed as the cafe also serves bubble tea — and hearsay their bubble tea is pretty bombs, so make sure you give it a go! Bubble tea, hotpot and dogs? Say no more!
As if all that isn’t great enough, there is absolutely no time limit here, which means you can cuddle and play with all the doggos until your heart’s content.
There is, however, a minimum purchase of one drink per customer (from S$5.40, RM19.90) which should be pretty easy to hit, especially if you’re planning to stay long. All customers are also required to wear socks, which you can purchase from the counter for just S$0.71 (RM2.50)
