Johor Bahru is indeed the shopping haven for most Singaporeans — especially since the exchange rate as of now is at S$1 to RM3.44. But if you’re tired of shopping around the same few stores (how is this even possible?), Noko Malaysia might be your new favourite shopping spot.
Remember the good ol’ days when everything at Daiso was just S$2? Well, those days might be over but you can relive those cheap thrills at Noko Malaysia. Located at Pasir Gudang in JB, this lifestyle store offers a wide variety of everyday essentials, lifestyle products, and more. The best part? Noko also has regular S$0.58 (RM2) and S$1.45 (RM5) deals for those looking to a cop a good bargain.
If you’ve just moved into your new BTO and are looking for some affordable kitchen utensils, you’ll definitely be able to find some here. While the items here cost a mere fraction of the price you would pay elsewhere, the quality and the selection here does not pale in comparison. Prices for mugs go for around S$4.35 (RM15) and bowls go for S$2.90 (RM10) — BRB, my inner cheapskate is screaming.
There’s even dedicated sections for party decorations, stationery, and home decor, amongst others. Most surprisingly, ladies will defo love this one — you’ll also be able to find a wide selection of makeup from Malaysian brand Chriszen. We hear that a Chriszen matte lippie will typically set you back around S$8.37 (RM28.90) but here, you can get it for just S$2.90 (RM10).
While you’re at it, make sure to check out some of the other skincare and cosmetic products from Chriszen too. There’s also wet wipes and makeup removers going for just S$0.58 (RM2) per packet with up to 70 sheets each — super value for money!
You can even tick off some items on your groceries list as you can find things like fresh produce, fruits, instant noodles, and plenty of yummy snacks. Noko truly is a one-stop shop for all your shopping needs and I’m definitely adding this one to my list the next time I’m in JB.
