Store hidden in Plaza Singapura turns out to be better than Pop Mart

by Alexis Lee

Surely we all know about clothes and knick-knack thrifting, but did you know that Singapore has a place for you to thrift blind boxes too?

Thrifting Blind Boxes

Tucked away in the corner of Plaza Singapura’s newest wing, Co-Play offers a large variety of figurines and blind boxes to sift through. With a similar concept to consigned locker stores like Toy Outpost, Co-Play features different types of toys per locker.

In the store, you’ll be able to find your favourite Pop Mart series like Hirono, Dimoo, and Skull Panda— but with a twist. Taped on the outside of each box is its set character, meaning you don’t have to buy countless boxes to find your dream set! You’ll also be able to find figurines below retail price due to their “pre-loved” nature (pre-loved meaning basically new in this context)

As each cubicle is a consigned locker, other types of toys can be found too. Highlights include Smiski keychain capsules, POP Beans, anime figurines, and limited edition merchandise from past Pop Mart collaborations.

Do keep in mind that just like any resale platform, prices for the same item can vary. Looking through the entire store is absolutely recommended for you to get your desired item at the best value.

Anime Figurines

Co-Play also offers anime figurines from our favourite classic animations like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, and even Sailor Moon. Truly a figurine and blind box thrifting paradise; I found both Dragon Ball Z figurines from their older eras and One Piece x Labubu blind boxes all together.

From figurines created around the 2000s to modern collaborative figurines, Co-Play is full of charming collectables.

Small Businesses

Apart from just blind boxes or figurines, the store also features merchandise from local small businesses. Common items include hand-drawn stickers, acrylic keychains, and enamel pins, which vary in price but are well under S$20

The next time your friends bring up the idea of thrifting again, be sure to introduce a new type of thrifting to them with this little gem.
