Tiong Bahru Bakery’s newest convenience store-inspired concept has officially opened, and here’s what we liked best

Located on Tiong Bahru Road, the beloved Tiong Bahru Bakery introduces its newest extension, Crumb & Go. A convenience-style concept store and gift shop in one, Crumb & Go offers a new way to weave the bakery into daily life.

In this petite store, the goods consist of fuss-free options. Grab a quick bite with pre-packaged yoghurts and salads, or quench your thirst with bottled and canned juices. For something sweeter, packaged pastries such as baguettes and Shio Pan Breads make for an easy start to the morning.

Aside from pre-packaged goods, Crumb & Go also features a coffee bar, where you can order freshly brewed coffee or tea.

Sharing the same space, retail booths curated by Of Wonder Wander offer a shopping experience filled with unique and chic merchandise.

Expect a rotation of seasonal collaborations with design businesses from Korea, Thailand and Singapore. Highlighted brands include MERGE from Korea, Hue Studios from Thailand, and The Slow Press from Singapore. At MERGE, browse playful lifestyle essentials such as the Puffy Mug Accessory, which doubles as both a cup holder and keychain.

From Hue Studios, choose from 3D-printed keychains ranging from limited-edition festive designs to classic pet charms. From The Slow Press, pick up the latest zine, Assistant to the Assistant Chef, exclusively available at Crumb & Go.

Beyond the rotating merchandise booths, Crumb & Go also features outlet-exclusive Tiong Bahru Bakery merchandise, including online specials. The range includes themed, customisable tote bags (S$40) with iron-on patches (from S$4) and keychains, plushes of their signature pastries (S$18.50), and illustrated stickers (S$5.50 per sheet).

For those who love the calm atmosphere of Tiong Bahru Bakery, Thé Bahru 56 Candle (S$20) is also available, scented with vanilla and green tea to evoke the outlet’s slow vibe.

Although Crumb & Go primarily serves pre-packaged food, the bakery kitchen sits directly opposite the merchandise-filled space. Here, enjoy festive offerings such as the savoury Mulled Wine Poached Pear & Forge Crème Pâtisserie Danish (S$6) and the Smoky Forged Brown Butter Caramel Shio Pan (S$6.5).

A permanent item on the menu, Tiong Bahru Bakery’s take on strawberry matcha offers a playful twist with cherries instead. Rather than artificial red syrup, the cherries recall those found on a Black Forest cake, giving it a nostalgic flavour and making it our favourite drink at the store.

Conveniently located directly in front of a bus stop, Crumb & Go is perfect for a quick stop while waiting for your ride.

With the launch of Crumb & Go, look forward to new physical releases, overseas design studio collaborations, and a calm, thoughtfully curated space to spend the day in.
