Look, I get it. With the GST hike, it may be hard to find affordable leisure places without breaking your bank.

What if I told you, however, that there is an affordable gaming cafe with a cosy ambience located just 10 minutes away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT?

Game Over Gaming & Cafe has everything that you would need for a chill (and inexpensive) day out. From console and board games to retro arcade machines and even cafe fare, you’ll be sure to find something of your taste.

On top of that, each person only needs to fork out S$8 per hour on weekdays (Monday to Friday) or S$9 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). That’s an insane deal for a place near town!

When you’re there, you might find yourself gravitating towards their Nintendo consoles or PS5s. They have over 100 console games like Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy, Super Smash Bros and even Samurai Shodown. Personally, I would bring my friends down for Overcooked — the ultimate game that tests all friendships.

If you’re bringing a larger group, you might prefer their board games. With more than 30 selections, you’ll never run out of things to do. Besides crowd favourites like Monopoly and Jenga, Kopi King is a fast and fun family game to test out your kopitiam knowledge.

Need something more mentally stimulating? Try to outwit each other with Saboteur or Werewolf. These are great party games for those who love planning out strategies and get your adrenaline. They also have two arcade machines with over 11,000 retro games.

What’s more, you can get food and drinks from just S$4 brought to the table so you never have to leave your seat! They have sides like Tater Tots (S$6) and Ham and Pineapple Pizza (S$10) as well (great for a big party).

A meal is never complete without desserts. Go for their Butter Croissants (S$4), Kouign-amann (S$4.50) and Classic Croffles (S$6). Top up an additional S$2 to add an ice cream of your choice if you have company! I would pair this with a nice cup of hot Supreme Earl Grey Tea (S$5).

The best news is that they are open daily till 12am so you can always pop by for some stress relief after work or school.

Are you planning to drop by soon?
