As a sushi lover, I sometimes worry about the bill after a meal. Even after eating at cheaper Japanese places, my wallet unfortunately still takes a big hit without giving me a full stomach.
To my pleasant surprise, I recently discovered a high-quality sashimi restaurant just under a HDB block at Holland Drive that offers a 1-for-1 sashimi promotion, where you can enjoy 40 slices of this assorted delicacy for just under S$30.
At Goro Japanese Cuisine, fresh Premium Japanese Cuisine is served at an affordable price. With almost 40 years of experience in Japanese Cuisine crafting, the master chef of Goro Japanese Cuisine is a 1st generation Japan-trained Singaporean chef.
Apart from having a skillful head chef, the restaurant also receives fresh ingredients almost everyday, making sure only the best is served.
Their highlights include their Chirashi Don (S$24.80), Bara Chirashi Don (S$15.80), Steak Set (S$26.80) and Unagi Set (S$24.80). Aside from this menu, the star of Goro Japanese Cuisine is their sashimi.
Their assorted 5-kind sashimi (S$64.80) comprises fresh scallops, thick cuts of salmon, deep pink tuna, tangy swordfish, and refreshing yellowtail. This assorted set serves 20 pieces of seafood in total, but thanks to their 1-for-1 promotion, you can get 40 pieces for the same price.
The 1-for-1 promotion also applies to their 3-kind sashimi (S$36.80) consisting of their famous salmon, tuna and yellow tail, and serves 12 slices per set (24 slices with promotion).
Adding on to these surreal promotions, Goro Japanese Cuisine is also offering 40 slices of salmon sashimi for just S$29.90 to the first 8 guests per time slot: 11:30am–12:30pm and 5:30pm–6:30pm everyday. This promotion will be available until 31 December 2025.
Although it’s located under an HDB block, this is one Japanese spot I never stop recommending. Not to mention, with the kind of promotions they are offering, it is truly an underrated comfort spot for those who love to eat and yap.
Whether it’s for a casual meal or a celebration, Goro Japanese Cuisine is just the place that can satisfy both your stomach and your wallet.
