There’s a new board game cafe in town and it’s none other than GuildHall Singapore! Located in Parklane Shopping Mall. The best part about these guys is, you can play all the board games you want for just S$12 — say no more!

GuildHall Singapore is located just a five-minute walk from Bencoolen MRT station, and they’re open till 11pm on weekdays and on weekends, until the last person leaves — rumour has it that the latest anyone has ever left the space was at 9.30am the next day! If that isn’t a testimony of how much fun you’ll have here, I don’t know what else is.

The shelves are stocked with plenty of board games ranging from the classics to even rare and unique finds with interesting titles that will require you to do some hard brainwork. These card-driven strategy games include Twilight Struggle, Code names, Pandemic and Sequence.

And we get it, who wants to play a board game that requires thinking? Well, trust us when we say you’ll really have a ball of a time playing these games. Plus, these games really appeal to your competitive streak.

Fans of role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons will be pleased to know that you’ll also be able to find them here. But you won’t find your regular gameplay experience here. Instead, these guys have a dedicated game room, complete with figurines, projections, lights, and even sounds to make the whole experience even more immersive.

As someone who hasn’t played D&D before, I’m extremely curious to find out exactly what the hype around this game is all about. If you share similar sentiments, then the beginners course would be a great place for you to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons. Don’t worry, there will be experienced coaches — or Dungeon Masters — around to guide you along.

Each D&D session lasts three hours costs just S$25. For first-timers, you’ll get a free set of dice worth S$9.90 and you can use these dice for subsequent sessions, or if you decide to play at home.

Need a break from all the games and give your mind a little break? GuildHall also has miniature paintings for you to unleash your creativity, or release your frustration from losing the game (don’t worry, we’re not judging).

Each session costs S$35 and lasts for three hours. Don’t worry, all the materials including the miniature figurine will be provided, and there will be experts on-site to guide you along.

Since you’ll be spending most of your time here slaying dragons and fighting demons, you’re gonna need something to keep you fuelled up and hydrated. For an additional S$5, you can get free-flow snacks and drinks so you don’t have to worry about taking a snack break while in the middle of an important quest — how good is that?

Are you ready to get your game on?
