Korea’s famous Veggie Rice Bread Jungnammi is now in Singapore and here is what makes it different

We’ve tried Shiopan bread, soguem bbang (Korean salt bread) and milk breads—but did you know that a new type of bread has come to Singapore? Now, inheriting the artisanal practice of tteok (Korean Rice Cake), Jungnammi has brought its signature rice bread to Isetan Scotts this December

Using locally sourced Korean ingredients, Jungnammi’s veggie rice bread reinterprets traditional ingredients in a modern and innovative way. Instead of the classic bread and butter, Jungnammi’s variety of rice bread features its own fillings, infused with harvested vegetables

On top of its unconventional filling, the pastry stands out with its colourful exterior and realistic veggie shapes.

At the Isetan Scotts Jungnammi pop-up, the store offers bread flavours like Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, Persimmon, Onion, Chestnut, and more. On the first bite, the light aroma of these vegetables surfaces, followed by the bread’s unique chewiness from the infused rice cakes. The Chilli Veggie bread, in particular, carries a solid spice that isn’t lost in the mix of other ingredients

These sweet and savoury bites cost S$5 per piece, which we admit is steeper than usual. Even so, it is a flavour you can’t get anywhere else, and an experience we believe everyone should have at least once. Furthermore, the last day to grab these adorable veggies will be on Christmas Day, so take it as a treat!

Apart from the vibrant breads and aromatic fillings, the pop-up stand replicates a grocer’s, with breads labelled like actual vegetables you would see at the supermarket. Similarly, in true supermarket fashion, Jungnammi is offering a promotion: buy nine pieces of bread and get one free

For our Muslim friends, Jangnammi is also halal-certified, so there is truly nothing stopping you from grabbing these treats now.

From now till 25 December 2025, give yourself the experience of trying out this little grocer and “veggies”, and you might head down to Korea to have a second bite.
