Imagine my absolute delight when I found out that KEBUKE is dropping their first bubble tea-themed concept cafe in the North on 15 February 2025!

Sitting pretty in Sembawang Shopping Centre, their third outlet is not only serving up their signature tea blends but also rolling out a brand-new lineup of tea-inspired pastries and cakes.

We had the KEBUKE High Tea Set (S$28.80), which came with two medium drinks from the Classic Tea and Milk Tea Latte series, two sliced cakes, four cream puffs, and six cookies.

Let’s get into the pastries.

The Rice Oolong Basque Burnt Cheesecake was super rich. Maybe too rich when paired with equally indulgent drinks. I couldn’t handle more than a couple of bites, so if you’re planning to get this, maybe pick a lighter tea to go with it.

The Uji Matcha Cheesecake, on the other hand, was the one I kept going back to. It was soft, fluffy, and had a nice, earthy matcha flavour. Plus, it had a cute ‘茶’ on top.

We also tried the new flavours: the Peach Black Tea Cream Puff and the Rice Oolong Tea Cream Puff.

They had the same filling but a different outer coat. I slightly preferred the Peach Black Tea one because it was a little sweeter. However, if you love oolong, you might prefer the other.

The Butter Cookies and Coffee Cookies were pretty standard, but I liked that it wasn’t too strong, pairing well with the drinks.

Heads up, this tiered high tea set is exclusive to Sembawang Shopping Centre

Moving on to the drinks.

The Honey Peach Black Tea with Fresh Lemon (S$4.30 for medium, S$5.20 for large) was a tad too sweet for me, even at 30% sugar. However, it was still super refreshing.

Biscoff Black Tea Latte (S$5.60) was dangerous. I didn’t expect to love it so much but I ended up scraping the sides of the cup to get every bit of that Biscoff spread.

My companion was obsessed with this one, and I totally get her.

I knew I was going to love the Rice Oolong Milk Tea (S$4.70 for medium, S$5.40 for large) from the start.

I’m a sucker for anything oolong, and this one did not disappoint with the strong roasted flavour. Fair warning, it might be an acquired taste.

The Jasmine Green Tea with Proton Strawberry (S$5.80 for medium, S$6.40 for large) wasn’t my cup of tea (haha, get it).

The strawberry flavour was stronger, which might be great if you love fruity drinks. Alas, I prefer a better balance. Also, I’d recommend getting 0% sugar, since the drink itself is already naturally sweet.
