Ever loved a drink so much on your travels that you tried recreating it at home?
That’s exactly how home-based cafe Lazy Cup started and now they share a taste of Taiwan with our Little Red Dot.
Located in Punggol, Lazy Cup offers a short and sweet menu. Of the eight items, we zoomed in on two recommended options, The lazy cup (S$6) and the Mocha (S$4.30/S$4.80).
The eponymous drink, The lazy cup, is what sparked the creation of the cafe. Lazy Cup’s owners fell in love with cloud coffee they had tried in Taiwan last year, so within a month after the trip, they got the coffee-making equipment and got to work.

According to the owners, Lazy Cup’s version is a twist on the original Taiwanese brew. Consisting of double shot espresso with milk, topped with a rich velvety cream, it was smooth and robust with the cream adding a light sweetness.
Pro tip: drink directly from the cup’s rim to get the full blend of the cream and coffee! We were on cloud nine after we learned of this information and took a second sip.
Next up is the Mocha. A classic cafe staple, this contains double shot espresso with milk and cocoa. Of the many mochas I’ve had, this probably comes out on top for its perfect balance of coffee and cocoa flavours without leaning too sweet or bitter.

Aside from these items, you can also try another recommended item, the Latte (S$3.80/S$4.30), Spanish latte (S$4/S$4.50), and more. We found prices to be pretty reasonable too, and with how much we enjoyed our chosen drinks, it’s safe to say you’re getting bang for your buck.

As if our visit hadn’t peaked from trying the signature brews, we were lucky enough to be let in on an upcoming new menu item.
That’s right, it’s Matcha with Banana Pudding which you’ve probably seen all over TikTok. This item is still in the works, but the owners, ever so welcoming, surprised us with the first sip of this new creation.

Lazy Cup’s matcha is mellow and pleasant. And with the banana pudding crowning the drink, it’s the cherry on top. It adds more creaminess and slight sweetness for the perfect dessert and drink in one.
So the next time you’re game to try this viral drink, you now have a new option that might just be your new neighbourhood fix.
Unfortunately, the cafe only does takeaways but if you want to stick around, there’s a small high table right outside the owners’ home.

With two matching chairs, this seating offers a coastal view (you can even spot our neighbour Malaysia from here!) that few home-based cafes can boast about.
Will you stop by Lazy Cup the next time you’re craving clouds in a cup?
