With so many bustling bazaars taking place including Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, Kampong Gelam Bazaar, and Park Maya Fest’s Ramadan Fiesta, we’re certainly very well fed during this festive season.

I hope you (and your wallets) are ready for more feasting because there is yet another late-night bazaar in Johor Bahru with a plethora of street grub and lifestyle goods that can’t be missed.

Just 20 minutes away from the checkpoint, Magika Raya will be taking place until 11 April 2024 from 3pm to 2am daily at B5 Johor Street Market.

Best yet, it’s opened even later than other popular bazaars — supper anyone? It’s also conveniently located near Angsana Mall so if you find yourself itching to shop more, you know where to go.

You can be rest assured that there’ll be plenty of eating and shopping options as it boasts over 100 F&B stalls with outdoor seating for you to chill and dine at.

You might even get to enjoy exciting performances from local celebrities including Shaheizy Sam and Noraniza Idris while munching on your dinner.

But let’s cut to the chase and talk about what kind of eats you can expect to find at Magika Raya.

You can look forward to indulging in street snacks including a thick slab of fried squid, satay, and keropok lekor that’s loaded with generous amounts of cheese.

Otherwise, cult favourites like cheesy BBQ pizzas, burgers and takoyaki are a must-have at every bazaar.

Looking for something more filling?

You can also expect to see local favourites — sure to satisfy any cravings. This includes nasi goreng tumbuk topped with giant juicy prawns, nasi lemak, fried kway teow, and hearty servings of Ayam Percik or Nasi Lamb Chop from Tok Ayah

Have it alongside a bowl of piping hot kambing soup or Ayam Golek Gerobok from Grill Bar.

Here’s a pro tip: there will be porridge handed out after Friday prayers at the open parking area for our Muslim friends.

Viral foods like tanghulu, churros, baby pancakes, vegetable-shaped buns, classic and colourful kuih kuihs (I could go on) are sure to delight anyone with a sweet tooth.

Don’t forget to bring home a bottle (or two) of Raya goodies from Qookies and Dapur Ummi.

If you’re a fan of sweet and creamy drinks, you must try out the popular ice cream air balang in colourful flavours like vanilla blue and mango yoghurt.

Besides that, there’s teh bunga chrysanthemum and susu kambing AKA goat milk which comes in classic flavours like chocolate, strawberry, mango and more.

Visit Klambi thrifting and ZZ Exclusive for vintage thrifting or popular Adnaa Kuala Lumpur to get traditional baju kurung.

If you’re lucky enough, you might score some special discounts from just S$28.40 (RM100).

There’s simply too much to do at Magika Raya so if I were you, I’d head down earlier to properly explore the fare and lifestyle goods it has to offer and soak in the festivities.

Are you heading down to JB for a fun-filled weekend?
