Who actually made it across the border during the long Easter weekend last week? Another reason why we’re celebrating the wonderful world of 2022 (goodbye and no thank you 2020-2021), it seems like our weekly jaunts into our favourite neighbouring country (cheap massage places in JB *whoop whoop!*) are back for good.
With long queues going in and out of Johor Bahru (JB) over the weekend, and reports from friends that JB is good to go, you can be sure that many of us (myself included) are definitely making our way over this weekend.
Back in 2019 before the pandemic struck, what was your favourite thing to do when you travelled to JB? Apart from food and KTV, one of the things on the list for me is getting back into my regular massage sessions in JB. The big question though, is which massage places in JB are still open for business?
Some of us might have had a go-to massage spot in JB from pre-covid times, but unfortunately over the past two years, some establishments have closed due to the lack of patrons to keep business running.
Before you travel into JB, here are the massage places we’ve verified that are still open and good to go – cheap, clean, and definitely Confirm Good.
1. Sabye Sabye (from S$17.60 / RM55)
Sabye Sabye is one of those massage places that’s known for providing good massage experiences with dependable masseurs. Despite its humble no-frills shop front, if you’re on the hunt for a massage that’s both cheap and good, this is where you need to be. They’re also currently running a promo for their massages.
Right now it only costs S$17.60 (RM55) for a 60-minute full-body massage, the cheapest we’ve found thus far! (The original price is S$20.73 / RM65.) However if you prefer oil with your massage, it will cost S$25.40 (RM80) for a 60-minute full-body oil massage. And if you need a longer massage than usual, the 90-minute full body massage will cost S$23.90 (RM75), and S$33.40 (RM105) for the one including oil.

4. Zie Reflexology Centre (from S$20.92 / RM65)
Apart from the usual Thai massage places, check out Zie Reflexology Centre, a massage place specialising in Malay traditional massage and cupping. At S$20.92 (RM65) for a 60-minute Malay traditional massage performed by experienced therapists, enjoy the full experience inclusive of foot reflexology, stress massage, and head and shoulder massage.
Otherwise, you could also give cupping, a traditional method of removing toxins and relaxing the body, a good go! Having tried cupping before, it is an interesting way to detox and destress, and I would recommend trying it at least once if you haven’t yet already.

From massages to mani-pedis, it’s a one-stop shop for both the ladies and gents with everything from traditional body massage and head massage to ear candling, cupping and Gua Sha. And if you have the time, feel free to top it all off with a lovely mani-pedi too.

Expect to pay S$27.36 (RM85) for a 60-minute full-body Thai aromatherapy massage, S$37.66 (RM117) for 90 minutes, or S$51.18 (RM159) for a 2-hour massage.
And if you’d like a private massage room, it’ll only cost an additional S$3.22 (RM10) per person!

They are also currently running a promotion where it’s much cheaper for two people to enjoy a two-hour massage each, together. For two girls or a couple, a two-hour massage will cost S$78.54 (RM244) – that’s S$39.27 per person, only S$10 more for another hour of massage!
