Halal Japanese restaurants are always a hit—whether it’s ramen, gyukatsu, or anything in between, we just can’t get enough. So imagine our shock when we found out Ryo Yakiniku would be closing soon.
The announcement was made on Instagram this November, where they confirmed the closure would be happening on 15 December 2025.
Many fans, including ourselves, were heartbroken by the news. With that said, consider this our little tribute to the Ryo Yakiniku team for their unwavering dedication to serving top-tier meat cuts to the local Muslim community.
For the past five years, there’s been a quaint Tai Seng food court with tables full of families and friends enjoying yakiniku into the evening.
At first glance, it may look like any ordinary Mookata setting, but don’t be mistaken! It’s actually Ryo Yakiniku’s setup, designed to give customers the cosiest atmosphere and delicious aroma of grilled meat.
They pride themselves on offering affordable yet high-quality meat cuts such as Prime Karubi 50g (S$6), Kata Rosu 100g (S$6), Wagyu 100g (S$18), and more. Not a huge fan of beef? Don’t worry as Ryo also offers Salmon Belly 200g (S$8) and Chicken Cube 200g (S$10).
Other than the meat cuts, their menu offers appetising Japanese dishes such as Chicken Karaage (S$7), Gyoza (S$8), Miso Soup (S$1.50), and more.
However, the real star that made them viral was their iconic Ramly Style Wagyu Burger—Wagyu patties and cheese bundled between toasted brioche buns, all wrapped in a perfectly cooked egg.
Prices aren’t available online, but honestly, we’d pay whatever amount just for a bite!
If Tai Seng is too far for you, feel free to drop by their Gambas Sembawang outlet, which is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 5pm to 10pm.
Both outlets will have their last order of the day at 9.30pm, so be sure to arrive in time.
Well, time is ticking, and we’re already planning to head down every day before it closes permanently, and so should you.
