Fellow carbs enthusiasts, it’s time to rejoice. Standard Bread (yes, the one famous for the Tissue Bread), is opening its first international outlet right here on our sunny shores!
If you’ve been lucky enough to visit their cafes in Korea, you’ll know that this bakery is a slice of heaven. Serving up pillowy loaves, rich spreads, and cosy vibes, Singapore is finally getting a taste of that magic at Weave, the upcoming lifestyle cluster at Resorts World Sentosa.
For those unfamiliar with Standard Bread, let’s just say you’re missing out.
In Korea, they’ve built a cult following thanks to their barn-like aesthetic, and creative takes on classic bakes. Obviously, and their Tissue Bread, available in classic and infused with truffle. A massive, cube-shaped loaf with layers so soft and airy, they peel apart effortlessly (admin tried it in Korea and it was so airy).
Singapore’s Standard Bread outpost will be part of Weave’s grand opening in the middle of 2025, joining over 40 dining and lifestyle brands in a 20,000 square metres space.
While we don’t know if they’ll be bringing their signature rustic aesthetic from Korea or switching things up, we do know one thing — our bread-loving hearts are ready.
While the official menu hasn’t been announced yet, we have high hopes that Singapore will get to experience Standard Bread’s signature bakes, including Tissue Bread, Creme Brulee French Toast, Salted Butter Bread, Toast Pudding, and Chestnut Soup & Truffle Mushroom Soup.
And here’s to also hoping that they bring over their spreads and jams.
We’ve seen big-name bakeries like Pierre Herme launch special Singapore-only items, so will Standard Bread do the same?
If they do, we’re hoping for a local twist, perhaps… Kaya Tissue Bread (yes, admin has an unhealthy obsession with Kaya).
While there’s no confirmed opening date yet, we know this. Mid-2025 can’t come fast enough and we have to also prepare our hearts for the snaking queues.
