Opened by JUMBO Group in August 2022, Sui Yi Gastrobar prides itself as an all-in-one dining and entertainment concept with live music, large-group karaoke, and modern Asian fare that actually tastes good.
Like most concepts by the famous seafood restaurant group, the menu features an extensive selection of seafood-centric dishes like Wasabi Prawn Bombs (S$24), Chilli Crab Shooter (S$6.90) and even Master Hawker’s Sambal Stingray (S$28).
There’s even an entire section dedicated to deep-fried delights (‘Golden Brown Hits’) like the Firecracker Mala Karaage (S$16), Ooo Mami! Loaded Fries (S$12), and Har Cheong Gai, Cheong Har! (S$15), the shrimp paste winglets pair oh-so-well with draught beer.
But if bar bites aren’t enough, go for heftier mains like the Supreme Crab Fried Rice (S$28), Wok Braised Pig Trotter Bee Hoon (S$24), or Sui Yi’s Sah Poh Fan (S$22) traditional charcoal-fired claypot rice with Chinese sausage and duck liver sausage. The perfect “drunk food”, I feel.
