One such thrift shop has popped up in the Hillview neighbourhood (finally us Westies have something to look forward to) recently and it’s too aesthetically appealing to not mention.

Duplet Studio was founded by two friends (hint: one is a popular influencer!) who discovered their shared love for elevated basics and old-money aesthetics. Think high-quality clothing and accessories that are classically stylish and of muted shades.

That’s exactly what you can expect from Duplet Studio. Here, you can shop from either their studio line or their curated selection of vintage second-hands. Take it from me when I say their offerings are literally perfect for creating a capsule wardrobe from scratch.

For example, their 90s Ribbed Scoop Camisole (S$38) is a must in every closet as it can be layered with anything and everything. Feel free to wear it on its own when the weather is hot. As the top is made from ribbed cotton, it’s stretchable, comfortable, and oh-so soft.

Opt for the 90s Ribbed Boat Neck (S$38) for a higher neckline. Likewise, it’s made from 100% cotton, so it’s perfect for all-day comfort. Both these tops come in three sizes: extra small, small, and medium.

Their Oak Brown Oversized Blazer (S$68) is also a highlight for someone who loves copying any outfit worn by Hailey Bieber (*ahem* aka me). Blazers may not be the most practical choice in Singapore’s heat but they’re great for the office — and they instantly give off those girl boss vibes!

Rounding out their collection are vintage blouses, vests, trousers, skirts, dresses, and even men’s suits.

When it comes to accessories, you’ll usually find a selection of retro-inspired purses, though availability can vary! At the time of writing, they’ve a 1970s Ceramic Beaded Envelope Bag (S$72) that looks very vintage Dior-coded.

While you can shop online, I recommend heading down to their store to experience the cosiness and take some mirror selfies. Do note that visits to the store are by appointment only, which you can easily book right here.

They carry a wide range of vintage and streetwear for all genders  — it’s hard to leave here empty handed. From graphic tees, to cargo pants, denim jackets, even jerseys, you’ll definitely be able to find that missing piece to your wardrobe here.  

They also have a wide range of accessories like sunglasses, bags, jewellery, caps and so much more for you to add to your wardrobe. If you’re looking to spice up your wardrobe, make sure to head down to Honsie Ponsie for your next shopping spree! 

2. Bhabie Market

Bhabie Market stands out from other thrift stores on this list as they brand themselves as the Uniqlo of second hand (their words not mine). What’s also interesting is that prices here are also decided based on the style instead of the brand. Prices range from just S$10 for t-shirts up to S$38 for cargo pants. 

Clothing wise, you can find lots of vintage sweaters, cargo shorts and pants, knitted sweaters, graphic tees, bags, and more. If you’re like me and prefer to be left alone while I browse through the racks, then you’ll be pleased to know that the store is introvert-friendly, which means that the staff won’t bother you while you shop — bonus points for that! 

3. Hikari Space

Hikari Space is a newcomer in the thrift scene at Queensway. The space is managed by ahma.thrifts and un.wastelands, and they have a ton of cute pieces that will add some spunk and attitude to your wardrobe. 

From cute baby tees to trendy cargo pants, funky denim skirts and even colourful hobo bags, they’ve got everything you need to spice up your Y2K fashion game. 

On the racks, you’ll be able to find some unique reworked pieces too as well as some really interesting y2k screen printed tanks. They also support small local businesses like Churings, xms store, and crocadoodee, so you can shop for some matching accessories to pair with your new look. 

They also have cute crochet pieces for you to check out. Prices here are kept pretty affordable too — you can build a complete look for under S$50!

4. Addiction Vintage 

How I came across Addiction Vintage was through one of their mystery box deals where you get some really cool vintage pieces at great prices. They’ve now got their own shop space in Queensway — yay! 

They have a wide range of vintage tops and hoodies, ranging from brands like Nike to Ralph Lauren, and even Stussy. But of course, prices for the branded goods lean upwards of S$50. 

But don’t worry, they also have a range of clothes priced more affordably between S$15 and S$30. There’s even a S$5 bin for you to rummage through — and you’d be surprised at the hidden gems you can find in this pile of clothes. 

5. Nightingale Thrift

Nightingale Thrift is one of the most affordable thrift stores with prices going as low as S$4. They have a wide variety of men and women clothing, as well as plenty of bags and cute accessories. 

While you might not be able to shop for much Y2K fashion here, you can still pick up some pretty cute and trendy pieces from brands like Mango, Bershka, Dockers and more, all for a fraction of the original price. Depending on your luck, you might even pick up some preloved branded goods in very good condition. If you’re looking to find a good steal, you know where to head to!

Although they tend to hold small-scale pop-ups around Singapore, they’ve just launched a massive thrift concept, Second Story: Peace Edition, that will be around for around six months (till February 2024).

This is the collective’s largest space yet, spanning over 5,000 sqft, comprising three entire units filled with books, pre-loved clothing, and so much more. It is located on the second floor of Peace Centre (no, not Haji Lane), and can be accessed via the staircase next to Aladdin’s Castle Cafe.

The charming Second Story: Peace Edition is home to a very extensive selection of clothes, books (fun fact: they’ve got a whopping 50,000 books in storage), and hard-to-find collectibles.

First things first, you’ll notice racks on racks of pre-loved clothing priced from just S$8. After all, thrifting shouldn’t be too expensive a hobby.

The womenswear is sourced locally, via trade-ins and donations, and from Japan. Whether you’re in need of a snazzy blazer, pair of pants, sports jacket or even a flowy kimono-style robe, there are plenty of trendy and high-quality pieces to choose from.

There’s even a room dedicated to specially curated menswear, ranging from work blazers to sweatpants, for your thrifting pleasure.

Moving on to the “Book Room“, you can expect secondhand titles selected by the in-house curator in a diverse selection of genres including literature, art and design, politics and philosophy, and so much more.

If you’re the sort that gains satisfaction from copping vintage finds, hit up the “Rare and Vintage” section for rare (but pricier) books that can go up to S$50.

But it’s not all about books and clothes. Audiophiles can check out the range of vinyls by Wildflower Wax Co, a curated vinyl record store selling brand new and sealed, top-shelf titles for S$30 and up.

After all that browsing, why not try your hand at blackout poetry or share your thoughts about thrifting at the activity corners?

Those visting with little ones can instil in them a love of reading at the small yet cosy children’s corner that is equipped with beautifully illustrated picture books and paperbacks. Stay tuned, as it may soon expand into an larger “zone” complete with storytelling sessions and other kid-friendly activities.

You’ll notice several reading and lounging nooks around the space — visitors are more to welcome to sit down and relax, work (there are power plugs, but not Wi-Fi), or simply chill and hang out with friends.

The cafe and consignment store is decked out in industrial and bohemian accents, with a combination of mismatched furniture, plush couches, and brick walls that give off cosy vibes — as if you’ve stepped into someone’s home.

Unlike most regular thrift stores that are stocked with pre-loved (or reworked) apparel that have been donated, consignment stores sell items on behalf of the original owners, who then receive a cut of the sale. The more you know!

uptown. specialises in men’s streetwear (although you are free to wear whatever you want), boasting a well-curated, internationally sourced selection of vintage apparel and accessories from luxury brands like Aimé Leon Dore, Louis Vuitton, Stussy, Celine, Cartier, and many more. Think the likes of tops, jackets, bags, caps, sneakers, and wallets.

The racks are restocked on a weekly basis, so you might be able to cop a new fashion find every time you visit!

Afterwards, spend some time with a cuppa (from S$4 for an Espresso) or tuck into hearty brunch classics with an Asian-inspired flair, like the Kimchi Fried Chicken Burger (S$24), Seared Tuna Som Tam (S$20), and Butter Chicken Na’anwich (S$24).

Probably the largest vintage and reworked clothing store in Singapore, Vintage Wknd specialises in original and reworked vintage pieces so you best bet you can find items from the 50s to the Y2K era here. The items here also have a one-of-a-kind factor — that’s right, no two pieces are alike here as most of them have been reworked from discarded materials. 

The clothes you’ll find are more brightly coloured and cutesy which will add a pop of colour to your everyday style. They’ve also got a pretty extensive collection of original pieces and reworked items in store so don’t be surprised if you find yourself leaving with more items than you came here for.

3. Superwasted

Superwasted is helmed by the same owners behind Vintage Wknd, you can expect to find unique upcycled and vintage pieces worth adding to your wardrobe. Like their sister brand, most of the pieces here have been creatively reworked into items like crop tops, shirts, jackets, and dresses. 

What sets them apart from Vintage Wknd is their style, which is more rugged and edgy. Their online store also has a mystery shopping option in which the store will surprise you with something off their racks — doesn’t it sound exciting? Prices here will also set you back upwards of S$35.

4. Woofie’s Warehouse 

You might have seen this TikTok famous thrift store on your social media feeds. What makes these guys special is the curated selection of trendy Y2K fashion for just S$10 — super pocket-friendly! Woofie’s Warehouse joined the thrifting scene in April 2023 and their physical store is overflowing with Y2K vibes with their vintage-inspired items and retro memorabilia. 

The racks are filled with Y2K-inspired items as well as other styles including vintage graphic tees, denim jeans and skirts, cargo pants, hoodies, workwear and more. You’ll even be able to find leather loafers in pristine condition going for just a fraction of its original price here — what a steal! Apart from vintage items, you can also find brands like Adidas, Nike, Champion, Reebok, Umbro and even Dickies here too — all pre-loved, of course. And yes, everything is just S$10 so why not?

5. Flame Vintage 

Calling all retro-enthusiasts! Here’s a really lit (pun intended) vintage store you defo have to check out — Flame Vintage. Remember back in the day when punk-rock graphic tees were a thing? You’ll be pleased to know that the racks here are stocked full with graphic tees that will certainly make heads turn. 

If rock isn’t your thing, Flame also has a selection of retro-style jackets, vests and more from labels like Nike, and Ralph Lauren among others. I personally really love their wide selection of windbreakers which go for just S$20 to S$30. There’s also a S$10 section that is filled with hidden gems, although you’ll need to put in a bit of effort to rummage through the bin.

6. The Cartel’s 

One of my personal favourite spots to thrift a good graphic tee is The Cartel’s because they have probably the widest selection of graphic tees around. What’s even greater about the shop is they have racks of clothes starting from just S$5 — try saying no to that! 

Apart from their exhaustive collection of graphic tees, they’ve also got a pretty large selection of NFL jerseys and even shoes — yes, you can find some vintage sneakers like Nike Jordans here. If you don’t know what to get, you can go for the three-piece mystery pack which will certainly be a sweet surprise.

7. Fibres Friction 

If you find yourself wandering along the streets of Haji Lane in the mood to shop for some vintage clothes, you definitely have to check out Fibres Friction. Formerly known as Thriftanic, the store is lined with racks of neatly colour-coded vintage shirts. 

You can expect to find racks filled with clothes from some of our favourite streetwear brands like Carhartt, Dickie, Wrangler, and more, which helps to keep you focused if you’re looking to shop for a specific brand. There’s also a S$10 cap bin if you’re looking to score some nice trucker caps.

Whether you’re looking to elevate your wardrobe with some unique finds, or affordable staple pieces, you’ll definitely be able to find them here. 

Other than that, there’ll also be a monthly rotation of activities on the side — with January being kicked off by free flash Jagua tattoos from the highly-sought Jagua tattoo artist See Min (@henn.drawn on Instagram). And yes, it’s as good as it sounds — it’s completely free with no strings attached. The only downside is that the booth’s probably going to be really popular and it’ll only be available for two hours from 2pm to 4pm (so head down early if you don’t want to miss out!).

That is, until we stumbled upon The Luggage Market (no, it’s not a luggage sale!). Located at Aperia Mall (just a five minute walk from Lavender MRT), this large-scale thrift market has secondhand goodies from over 40 thrift booths operating out of luggages (hence, the name). 

The reason why the booths are operating out of luggages is because The Luggage Market wants people to be able to shop and sell their secondhand items in the easiest way possible — no hassle, no frills (plus, it’s pretty fun to do it the OG flea market/yard sale way too!).

The lively thrift market operates every Sunday from 11AM to 6PM with both indoor and outdoor booths — good news for the ones who prefer to shop in the comfort of an air-conditioned space. 

As The Luggage Market is really big on the sustainability movement and very passionate about curbing overconsumption, most of the items that you’ll find here are pre-loved and priced really affordably. You can even book a booth and bring your own secondhand items to sell — though it can be hard to book a booth at the moment as the booths are in really high demand.

This charity thrift store is run completely by volunteers, and all proceeds go to the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations’ (SCWO) — that’s one more reason to shop there, because it’ll be for a good cause!

2. The Fashion Pulpit

The Fashion Pulpit isn’t your typical thrift store. Rather, it focuses on swapping, which means you swap in your old clothes for credits that you can then spend on the pre-loved clothes in the store — which makes it a great way to not only get new clothes for cheap, but also to get rid of items you no longer wear.

Their selection is pretty extensive, and you’ll find everything from casual summer dresses to formal workwear, and even a few party outfits. Plus, they refresh their inventory every couple of weeks so there’s always something new for you to nab. 

Another plus is that they have fitting rooms in their store, which few thrift stores have.

At Function Five Thriftshop, you’ll find vintage items mostly priced between S$5 and S$25, but the store also has a pile of free clothes that you can help yourself to.

It’s no secret that Lucky Plaza is thrifting heaven. There are a bunch of thrift stores there, but the biggest of them all is Lucky Plaza Bazaar. 

There, you’ll find racks and racks of all sorts of clothing, with most items being priced between S$2 and S$10. Whether you’re looking for vintage y2k fashion or a cottagecore outfit, chances are, you’ll be able to find it there.

At Refash, you’ll find familiar brands such as Love Bonito, Topshop, and Zalora, but for just a fraction of the cost. Prices start at S$5, which is a steal especially since the clothes are all like-new.

If you prefer the convenience of shopping online instead of having to physically sift through the racks, Refash is also Singapore’s largest online thrift store — though they also have several physical locations.

A quick scroll through The Barn’s social media pages will show you many clothing items priced between S$2 and S$6, but apart from fashion, they also offer other miscellaneous items like household objects, toys, and even cameras. 

Bonus points to the store for convenience — they have three physical outlets in the north, west, and east, plus Carousell and Instagram listings for days that you don’t want to physically sift through items. 

All proceeds from the store go to Cornerstone Community Services, so your money will go towards funding various welfare programmes.

10. Praisehaven Mega Family Thrift Store

This is the largest thrift shop in Singapore, and it truly lives up to its name as a mega store. Here, you’ll find everything from clothing and books to furniture and electronics. 

The shop also has fitting rooms, so you can try on clothing before purchasing — and they certainly have tons of interesting clothing. People have found all sorts of clothing here, from vintage leather jackets, to old wedding and prom dresses. 

Plus, the shop is run by the Salvation Army, so proceeds go towards a good cause.

The OG thrift store at 43 Arab Street has always served the precinct with unique finds, but you can think of its rag house counterpart as its (even more) budget but equally snazzy sister. Located at 749 North Bridge Road, the rag house boasts its S$2 offerings via this TikTok. From the clip, it appears that a wide range of tees and sweatshirts are available for your choosing, which spells great news if you’re looking to revamp your wardrobe on a budget.

At the rag house, you’ll also find a Buy 5 Get 1 Free combo amongst other “cool promos” that have been promised to customers. They’ve also run other promotions such as allowing shoppers to take as much as they want with S$25 spent, or free work jackets for students with any purchase.

We have no choice but to stan a thrift store that supports both inclusivity and broke students on a budget.

Unlike many “thrift” stores in Singapore that are really just excuses for hype seekers to resell their rare cops at a premium, F-Five Rag House actually preserves the spirit of thrifting with their low price points. This makes sustainable fashion accessible to most, and allows older textiles to enjoy a renewed lease of life.
