Now, you can enjoy that sort of experience at <strong>Black Cow</strong>, an elegant wagyu restaurant in the CBD that gives diners an elevated dining experience. <p>For working professionals, there are also <strong>executive set lunch meals </strong>with unique <em>sukiyaki </em>and dons to try out. Veggie lovers can try the <strong>Kanto-style <em>sukiyaki </em>(S$88)</strong>, which has seasonal vegetables, fish <em>hanpen</em>, served with a side of raw egg for dipping, and you can choose from steamed rice or <em>shirataki </em>noodles to go with the dish. Each <strong>set meal comes with house salad, seasonal vegetables, miso soup </strong>and <strong>dessert of the day</strong>.</p>

<p>Normally when we see the word<a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/kujaku-yaki-buffet-singapore/"><em> &#8220;Wagyu&#8221;</em> </a>on the menu, it&#8217;s followed by a rather daunting price tag that we might not be prepared to pay. But if you really wanted to have a taste of quality <em>Wagyu</em> <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/sandaime-bunji/">without breaking the bank</a>, then you have to head down to The Gyu Co at Jurong East.</p>

<p>Only opened in August, this humble eatery at <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/lai-lim-bistro-jay-chou/">Vision Exchange</a> is actually run by an experienced chef who&#8217;s worked in esteemed restaurants including <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/affordable-oyster-places-singapore/">DB Bistro and Oyster Bar</a> and The Wine &amp; Gourmet Friends.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="800" height="999" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-5.jpg" alt="the gyu co affordable gyudon singapore" class="wp-image-31564" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-5.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-5-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-5-768x959.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-5-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-5-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Calvin Lee/google maps</figcaption></figure>

<p>While this is his first foray into <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/maruhachi-donburi-curry-havelock-road/">Japanese cuisi</a>ne, you can expect plenty of exquisite French fusion influences in the sauces and in the use of <em>Foie Gras</em>. But the main attraction here is undoubtedly still their <strong>Classic Gyu Don</strong> <strong>(S$9.90/S$15.90) </strong>that comes with slices of tender Australian<em> Wagyu</em> beef for under S$10.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s all drenched in a special sauce that is home-made every day to give you that rich umami to complement the beef. While the regular portion provides 100g of <em>Wagyu</em> richness, those with bigger appetites might want to go for 200g for S$15.90.</p>

<p>If you prefer an additional kiss of fragrance, The Gyu Co also bathes the medley of beefy goodness with a punchy truffle perfume in their <strong>T</strong>r<strong>uffle Gyudon (S$13.90) </strong>for just a bit more.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="800" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3.jpg" alt="the gyu co affordable gyudon singapore" class="wp-image-31559" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3-300x300.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3-150x150.jpg 150w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3-768x768.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3-70x70.jpg 70w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3-390x390.jpg 390w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-3-585x585.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: The Gyu Co</figcaption></figure>

<p>Beef is not the only thing that The Gyu Co does, however. You can also get other affordable rice bowls including <strong>Oyakodon (S$7.90), Chicken Nanban Don (S$8.90), </strong>and <strong>Katsudon (S$10.90)</strong>.</p>

<p>For something a bit more unique compared to your usual Japanese rice bowls, there&#8217;s a <strong>Mentaiko Rainbow Trout Don (S$12.90/15.90)</strong> that puts the popular creamy sauce on a different fish than your usual salmon, and a <strong>Buta Kakuni Don (S$9.90)</strong> that sports some Chinese-inspired elements. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="800" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4.jpg" alt="the gyu co affordable gyudon singapore" class="wp-image-31560" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4-300x300.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4-150x150.jpg 150w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4-768x768.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4-70x70.jpg 70w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4-390x390.jpg 390w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/the-gyu-co-affordable-gyu-don-singapore-4-585x585.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption> Photo: The Gyu Co </figcaption></figure>

<p>Chef&#8217;s French expertise can also be tapped upon here if you wish to indulge in the decadent French classic of <em>Foie Gras</em>. There&#8217;s the regular <strong><em>Foie Gras</em> Gyudon (S$14.90/S$20.90) </strong>and a spruced-up <strong>Truffle <em>Foie Gras </em>Gyudon (S$17.90/S$23.90) </strong>&#8212; the latter is perfect for those who want a taste of luxury without spending obscene amounts of money.</p>

<p>They also have a value-for-money <strong>Lunch Set Deal</strong> where you get a side of <strong>Miso Soup</strong>, <em><strong>Chawanmushi </strong></em>and a <strong>drink </strong>for a mere <strong>S$3.50 add-on</strong>, meaning you can have a satisfying Japanese meal here without spending more than S$20 &#8212; a pretty good bargain.</p>

<p>They are also available for islandwide delivery, order<a href="https://thegyuco.oddle.me/en_SG/"> here</a>.</p>

<p>Finding affordable <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/enishi-ramen/">Japanese food</a> in Singapore isn&#8217;t hard, but finding one without a queue is. If you&#8217;ve been to <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/suki-ya-1-for-1-promo/">Suki-Ya</a>, you might have walked off at the sight of the monstrous queue. Sandaime Bunji is located just across the road at Millennia Walk.</p>

<p>When we look for Japanese food we always look for one that&#8217;s authentic &#8212; there&#8217;s a reason all the chains from Japan have such long queues. </p>

<p>And for a Japanese diner in Singapore, Sandaime Bunji is as authentic as they come.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="400" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-2.jpg" alt="sandaime bunji singapore" class="wp-image-27252" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-2.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-2-300x150.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-2-768x384.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-2-585x293.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Sandaime Bunji</figcaption></figure>

<p>Stepping into the shop space, you&#8217;d feel like you stepped right into a hole-in-the-wall in Japan, being greeted by the sight of wooden counters and floor cushion seats.</p>

<p>Most importantly, the many Japanese patrons &#8212; especially at night &#8212; will make you feel like you&#8217;re back in the bustle of Tokyo.</p>

<p>But really, the main reason you should go down is for Sandaime Bunji&#8217;s signature <strong>Wagyu Mountain Roast Beef Set (S$19.90)</strong>. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="800" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore.jpg" alt="sandaime bunji wagyu mountain" class="wp-image-27254" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-300x300.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-150x150.jpg 150w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-768x768.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-70x70.jpg 70w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-390x390.jpg 390w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-585x585.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Sandaime Bunji</figcaption></figure>

<p>A towering mountain made up of a hefty 200g of wagyu roast beef in all its meaty glory. Succulent slices of meat that are cooked to a tender softness, with a nice bit of chew. </p>

<p>They drizzle a sweet and savoury sauce over the mound of meat and provide a dab of wasabi at the side cut through the heaviness. </p>

<p>Besides that, Sandaime Bunji&#8217;s lunch set also has an ensemble of sides which include miso soup, salad, and silky tofu. Honestly, this might even be able to feed two if you&#8217;re small eaters.</p>

<p>Overall, S$19.90 for a huge mountain of wagyu is a steal even without the set &#8212; it&#8217;s cheaper than most<a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/best-affordable-steaks-singapore/"> wagyu steaks</a>. But if you&#8217;re headed down for <strong>dinner</strong>, it&#8217;s still very reasonably priced at <strong>S$24.90</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-4.jpg" alt="sandaime bunji sashimi" class="wp-image-27322" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-4.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-4-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-4-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-4-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/sandaime-bunji-singapore-4-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: @nomninjas/instagram</figcaption></figure>

<p>However, for many of us, a Japanese meal isn&#8217;t complete without some sashimi or sushi. Sandaime Bunji has you covered also with their S$16.90 Sashimi Promo.</p>

<p>You just have to order an alcoholic drink and you can get a sashimi platter filled with thick, fresh cuts of sashimi. It even comes with some of the good stuff like rich and fatty tuna chunks.</p>

<p>Otherwise, if you&#8217;re looking for something simple but higher quality than the standard chains, their lunch menu is for you.</p>

<p>They offer a variety of lunch deals such as the <strong>Beef Tendon Curry</strong> at just<strong> S$9.90</strong> a la carte, a very affordable price considering where it&#8217;s situated at. </p>

<p>So if you&#8217;re looking for an authentic Japanese place but don&#8217;t want to break the bank, then Sandaime Bunji is a great option. Especially if you&#8217;re craving for an<em> entire mountain</em> of succulent wagyu beef,</p>
