If you’re in town this weekend, you might want to check out the Delightful Treats and Bites of Joy food fair at Takashimaya.

Running until 3 March 2025, this Takashimaya food fair brings over 10 vendors with a variety of sweet and savoury treats

Located in Basement 2, Food Stops 1-3, the location is tucked in further than expected. So, if you have trouble finding it, just head straight in, and you’ll come across a cosy setup filled with tempting food options.

One of the first vendors we saw was Ji Xiang

Known for its traditional ang ku kueh in an array of flavours and colours, priced between S$2 to S$4 per piece. Options include Rainbow Peanut (S$4), Matcha (S$3), Black Sesame (S$3), Coconut (S$2), and Peanuts (S$2).

They’re also running a buy-seven-get-one-free promotion, making it a great opportunity to sample different flavours.

Over at Sugarsmith, you’ll find Sanrio-themed macarons (admin went there with a no-buying budget but caved). Try out the Hello Kitty (S$6.50), Cinnamoroll (S$6), Cookie Kitty (S$6), and more.

These cute treats would make for great gifts, but they sell out quickly. We arrived around 1pm, and most were already gone.

Another unique offering at the fair is Merlionyaki from Super Sister Durians

These Singapore-style taiyaki pancakes come in Azuki (S$4.50) and Durian (S$8.90) flavours, featuring a crisp exterior with a generous filling inside. We tried the durian version, and it pairs surprisingly well with the light pancake texture.

And for my Thai food fanatics, Mrs Banana SG is serving up Singapore’s first-ever Thai Fried Pineapple (S$7.50 for five pieces)

Other items on their menu also include Thai Fried Banana (S$7.50 for eight pieces), Sweet Potato Fritters (S$7.50 for eight pieces), Mix (S$9.50 for eight pieces), and Thai Milk Tea (S$5).

For a cosy space, they do surprisingly have quite a lot of food to check out. With the fair running only until 3 March 2025, this is your last chance to indulge in these unique bites before they’re gone.
