You might be familiar with the BARREL STORY OF HIBIKI, a modern izakaya which opened in December 2025. Upon imprinting its presence in CBD with its warm interior and three-course meals, BARREL has just opened its newest extension!
Through expanding the cosy pub, an outdoor dining space surfaces as THE TERRACE, introducing a more casual setting that complements the izakaya’s dark main dining room.

There, the menu starts with light snacks like Smoked Nuts & Raisins (S$8, S$6 during Happy Hour) and a fancier Truffle Edamame (S$16, S$10 during Happy Hour) finished with shio kombu.
As for heartier bites, highlight appetisers consist of Mochi Cheese Nuggets with Miso Curry Dip (S$15, S$12 during Happy Hour) and Super Fat Fries (S$18, S$15 during Happy Hour) cooked in A5 wagyu fat. Not forgetting its izakaya roots, classics such as Karaage with Yuzu Kosho and Lemon (S$18, S$15 during Happy Hour), Grilled Stingray Fin (S$14), and Teba-Gyoza (S$24) stuffed with pork gyoza filling conclude the sharing offerings at THE TERRACE.

Following the topic of a more easygoing and light dining environment, you can also enjoy THE TERRACE’s dedicated Happy Hour, which runs daily from 3pm to 7pm.
This Happy Hour complements all food offerings, ranging from cocktails to sakes. Cocktails include the Toki Highball, Sui Gin & Tonic, Haku Vodka & Tonic, and Mimosa—all priced at S$12, and S$9 during Happy Hour. Beyond cocktails, guests can also choose from a range of sake, wines, and beers. For our readers who don’t enjoy alcohol, non-alcoholic options are also available, comprising mocktails, teas, coffee, and soft drinks.

If you’re looking for heavier meals, you can also opt for mains like the Katsu Sando (S$28, S$24 during Happy Hour) accompanied by pork collar katsu and ohba coleslaw, Steak and Fries featuring fire-grilled miso-marinated striploin (S$46, S$38 during Happy Hour), or BARREL’s signature Chicken Rice (S$30).

Noodle dishes are also available, with highlighted dishes consisting of the TORASHO Cold Stupid Ramen (S$78, S$68 during Happy Hour), layered with truffle, kombu, and premium seafood, and the TORASHO Tonkotsu Ramen (S$15).

Lastly, no casual meal is done without dessert! Take your pick out of three soft-serve flavours: INNOCENT (S$8), made with Hokkaido milk, OKINAWA (S$10) with kokuto salted caramel, and BARREL (S$12), infused with Hibiki and Japanese organic honey. If you’re craving something of more grandeur, the Purin à la Mode (S$18), which comes with chantilly cream and seasonal fruits, is also up for grabs!
At the end of the day, THE TERRACE works for any casual occasion, from an after-work drinks spot to casual weekend visits or spontaneous drop-ins. Adding on to its welcoming nature, the space is also pet-friendly, allowing you to bring your pets to a good meal.
From our perspective, it seems THE TERRACE is already becoming one of the more practical and approachable options within the CBD. With that in mind, if you’re ever looking for a spot to unwind after work, let this spot be at the top of your list!
