15 best places to eat at The Woodleigh Mall including popular restaurants like Hi NOODLE, san.wich, Beans.Factory, and even a Fairprice Finest with a café and cocktail bar

It seems like the North-East (purple) line has been having a major glow-up lately — just look at all the new malls that have been popping up all over the place.

To make things easier for you, we’ve come up with a comprehensive guide on how you can eat your way through the food offerings from the newest kid on the block, The Woodleigh Mall

1. Hi NOODLE

If you’ve been on TikTok, chances are you’ve come across videos about this eatery in Somerset that serves up delicious bowls of Chinese noodles and even gives out free ice cream when you return your tray. Well, North-siders will now be able to get their hands on the popular Scallion Oil Noodles (S$4.90), Spicy Crayfish Noodles (S$14.90), and more without making the trip to town.

2. Bulgogi Syo

You might have heard of Seorae, but what about Bulgogi Syo? Brought to you by the folks behind Seorae, this restaurant opened its first branch in April 2023 at Bugis. Now, you’ll also be able to find it at The Woodleigh Mall! It’s known for its three-step hot stone grilling process that includes a showy flambé finish, so their meats come out extra smoky. 

3. Genki Sushi

This sushi chain needs no introduction. Mentaiko lovers, this is your sign to head over to Genki’s latest outlet for their iconic fries, affordable sushi and more.

4. VeganBurg

The world’s first plant-based burger joint is finally opening a second outlet; and it happens to be in The Woodleigh Mall, so you won’t have to travel to the east to get some delicious meat-free grub. Now there’s really something for everyone, all in one place!

5. san.wich

Sandos, anyone? Swee Heng’s viral halal-certified sandwich concept has opened a food kiosk at the mall’s basement level, and their almost-too-pretty-to-eat sandwiches are perfect to have on the go if you don’t have time for a sit-down meal.

6. Qin Ji Rougamo

At this point, I’m considering just moving to the North altogether (east side who?). You can get the popular umami-filled Chinese burgers from Qin Ji Rougamo — choose from the OG Qin Ji Pork Rougamo (S$5.80), Black Pepper Beef (S$5.90), and more. If you’re looking for something more filling, there’s even dishes like suan la fen (S$8.80).

7. A&W

Root beers, coney dogs, and fried chicken? Yes please! There’s a reason why their long-awaited return to Singapore was so hyped, after all. 

8. Yu Ba Fang

This famous chain specialising in Taiwanese dumplings first came to our shores in 2021, and have drawn pretty long queues — a clear sign (especially in Singapore) that the food’s good. Head down to try their YBF Classic Signature dumplings, or even special releases like Tom Yum Pan Fried Dumplings

9. Tiong Bahru Bakery

Yes, it’s yet another Tiong Bahru Bakery outlet. Getting your pastry fix from the famous bakery has never been easier — just imagine snacking on your favourite croissant, kouign amann, and so much more. 

10. Beans.Factory

North-siders, you’ll no longer need to travel all the way to Tanjong Pagar to get Taiwanese-style desserts. This popular Malaysian dessert chain has opened a second outlet in The Woodleigh Mall, so you can head down any time for Tau Fu Fah (soya beancurd pudding), Shaved Ice, and Grass Jelly.

11. Wonder Gelato

Ask any Italian: how do you know if gelato is legit? When it’s stored in those metal tubs. Well, that probably means that you can expect the real deal from Wonder Gelato! With freshly-churned flavours like pistachio, buckwheat, nutella swirl, and more, you’ll defo be spoilt for choice. Plus, they even have croffles and smoothies!

12. OLLA Specialty Coffee

If you’ve been on the hunt for a good cuppa, you’ll be delighted to know that artisanal coffee joint OLLA has made its foray into the North. Think specialty coffee, brunch menu items like fluffy scrambled eggs atop sourdough bread — need I say more?  

13. snacKING Retro Biscuits

Whenever I find myself craving for some of those nostalgic childhood snacks, I run into the same problem — not knowing where to get them. If you can relate, it’s time to make a trip to snacKING Retro Biscuits where you’ll find old-school biscuits, snacks and toys at affordable rates. 

14. Food Republic

You might be wondering: what’s so special about this particular food court? Well, apart from having a delectable range of highly-rated brands, it’s actually the first outlet to offer kids’ meal options. The industrial, street-style food court will also feature a specially-commissioned wall mural by award-winning Singaporean graffiti artist, TraseOne.

15. Fairprice Finest

I know, NTUC isn’t usually what comes to mind when deciding on dine-in options. However, you might want to head over to this particular 24-hour outlet that houses a blended food hall concept featuring freshly baked breads, quality brews from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, craft beers, and even shaken cocktails.

The Grocer Kitchen’s ‘Pick ‘n’ Cook’ option allows patrons to choose their own fresh seafood to be prepared by the chefs on site (with a S$8 cooking fee). It’s like dining in a restaurant — but even more affordable! Plus, you’ll even find mouthwatering delights like personalised cheese platters from just S$15, freshly shucked oysters, premium chirashi dons, and more. 

While not all of these establishments are operating at the time of writing, you can expect them to open over the next couple of weeks.
