Are you prone to surgeries and injuries? In our opinion, there are two kinds of people in the world: those who avoid getting hurt and those who get hurt in every way imaginable.
Everyone in the office falls into either of these categories, but there’s no fun in discussing lucky people.
Instead, we’ll dissect one of our favourite colleagues’ Hall of Accidents and how he conquered these 29 years with these five post-injury remedies:
1. Diet

Imagine being bedridden and delirious from the third wrist fracture operation of the year. All you can think about is your mother’s aromatic, Briyani rice. However, the only food available is the stale, “healthy” food from the hospital.
Although most people may not find the hospital menu appealing, it is fuelled by foods that promote rapid recovery and are high in lean protein, fibre, and carbohydrates.

What are lean protein, fibre and carbohydrates? Think of toast with scrambled eggs and avocado or muesli topped with almond nuts. These are exemplary diets that use one stone to kill two birds: they are both dangerously delicious and boost quick recovery as well.
The best part is that most of these recipes are affordable and simple to complete within the comforts of your home.
Perhaps that Briyani rice may need to take a backseat, especially when you’ll need your wrist to continue working hard.
2. Exercises

Surviving from a wrist injury is child’s play for our beloved colleague. He was looking for a true challenge, which led him to hurt his left knee’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Unlike his wrist injury, his eating habits were sadly insufficient for a speedy recovery.
Instead, weekly visits to the physiotherapist were the mainstay of his post-surgery recovery regimen. The key isn’t throwing yourself into a 21km marathon immediately.
Simple exercises like standing and sitting in a chair or strengthening your quadriceps muscles are a good place to start. When you’re ready, you can advance to straight leg raises and ankle pumps.

Monitor your progress and pace yourself if certain exercises cause unnecessary strain to your body. Eventually, you will start to feel like Hercules again!
3. Supplements
After going through four major surgeries, you’d think our colleague would’ve learnt his painful lesson. Well, you thought wrong! He ended up hurting his right knee’s ACL too.
Even though he was accustomed to the multiple surgeries and already knew the drill on recovery, it was still a tedious, troublesome and painful process for him.
He had to sacrifice his Briyani cravings and focus on physio and mobility exercises instead — which honestly felt more like torture than therapy. But even after all that effort, the pain from both old and new injuries still refused to go away.

Every little movement made his joints ache terribly, and when it rained? The aching intensified and became worse. His past injuries made his joints extremely sensitive to sudden changes in temperature — he literally could predict the weather based on how much his knees hurt.
Tired of being reliant on painkillers, he decided to give the supplements gifted to him by his loved ones a shot.

Amongst the supplements that he has tried, the most effective was the BCM 95® Turmeric Curcumin from Xandro Lab.
Initially, none of us believed that it benefited him so effectively, as supplements are often assumed to “work” because of the placebo effect rather than scientific effectiveness. But his dedication to proving us wrong was next level and left us in awe.
We watched him take the supplements every single day after lunch for a full month. And by the end of it, we couldn’t deny it anymore — we could tell the stark difference in his energy levels. He didn’t appear to be as restless anymore, probably because the annoying, budding aches were finally easing off.

The supplement didn’t just help with his joints; it also helps prevent chronic ailments and supports digestive health issues. Another colleague who often complained about pain in her abdomen started sharing the supplements too, and it wasn’t long before she not only experienced less pain but also looked way more refreshed and ready to conquer work like a champ.
If you, like our colleagues, often struggle with joint pain or abdomen discomfort, then you should try Xandro Lab’s BCM 95® Turmeric Curcumin. It’s packed with all the turmeric goodness to help keep your body feeling its best.
Seeing how their health improved and the visible transformation they went through from their supplement intake honestly inspired me to rethink my own health habits. Amongst all the brands out there, Xandro Lab really stands out — their wide range of supplements caters to various ailments and health needs, making them one of our top picks in supplement choices.
Of course, everyone’s different, so results vary per person. Always consult a qualified physician before starting any supplements.
4. Wearable Supports
Sometimes diet, exercise and supplements are not enough, especially during the monsoon season. Unfortunately, the cold weather is merciless, and the pain of his injuries haunts him again.
When all else fails, he turns to wearable supports such as knee guards and ankle guards to protect his joints.

It improves joint stabilisation and protection and reduces joint pain and swelling. However, please be mindful to avoid wearing it to sleep, as it affects blood circulation.
5. Low-Effort Lifestyle
Last but not least, our advice to him and to everyone who is injury-prone — please avoid putting yourself in dangerous situations.
It can be something as simple as strolling along Boat Quay at night, potentially twisting your ankle. Perhaps you may accidentally trip and break your arm. The best protection is no action.
Look at our colleague; he is safe and sound after all these years because he knows we care about him a lot.
