by Alexis Lee

To our male readers, did you know that today is Men’s Mental Health Day? Cut yourself some slack as the year is ending, with our top five activities for men to have a perfect wind-down session from the relentless 2025.

1. Ice Bath

A new form of relaxation, the Ice Bath Club offers spontaneous access to their sauna and relaxing amenities. Take a plunge in their purified ice pools to regulate your nervous system, or sink into their hot baths to give your skin a glow.

Depending on the type of Ice Bath Club access passes you hold, different benefits await. Gain unlimited entries in a month to the Ice Bath Club with an “Anytime Pass”, or make the most out of their facilities for one day through an “Off-Peak Pass”.

Making an impromptu visit out of stress? The club has got you covered with provided towels, lockers & swimmers. In addition, all passes can be purchased via their front counter, meaning no prior booking is required to have a spontaneous self-care session.

2. Combat classes

For the restless, try taking a beginner combat class like MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or boxing. Vent out any frustrations or tiredness in each martial routine, and feel the relief after a day’s worth of sparring.

Combat classes have proven multiple health benefits such as increased strength, agility and coordination. Even better, these classes help improve self-esteem and anxiety, helping you to gain confidence in your daily life. If you’re not sure where to start, MMA Fitness Lab provides up to four types of combat lessons in a week, and is conveniently located 6-minutes away from Farrer Park MRT station.

Climbing is also one of the activities that can be done with friends, giving you a good hangout and workout session. Climbing gyms or walls can be found in malls, specific bouldering gyms, and even community centres.

Book yourself a beginner lesson and soon you’ll see yourself at the top, literally and metaphorically.

4. PC cafe

For our homebodies, Esports cafes in Singapore have been on the rise, offering countless PC games to gamers. Take E-sport cafe Elixir Esports, for example, where you can play up to five hours in the cafe for just S$20++. Test next-gen titles on PlayStation 5, or explore the newest PC gadgets— the Esports cafe is a gamer’s paradise.

5. Keyboard customising

I’m sure LEGObuilding has crossed your mind when it comes to unwinding, but have you ever thought about keyboard customising

Similar to LEGO-building, you can purchase a keycap set of your choice on either Shopee or even Carousell to add to your current keyboard. The only difference here is that you can actually use what you have built. Plus, TikTok shops and online shopping channels have now made adorable keycap sets available at an affordable price.

As you learn more about keyboard customisation, you can not only change your keys’ mechanical sound, but also find brand-collaboration keycap sets to explore.

Although this article was written with International Men’s Day in mind, every day can be a self-care day for everyone with these activities.
