When BHC Chicken opened their first outlet in Singapore at Marina Square, many fried chicken fanatics (myself included) went wild. This led them to open their second outlet in KINEX.
And if you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to get your hands on their yummy fried chicken, now’s your chance! They’ve opened their third outlet in the heart of town at Taste Orchard.
Located just opposite Orchard Gateway, their newest outlet has some new outlet-exclusive items like Cheese Twist (S$12.90) and more. Now you can skip the massive queues at Marina Square and KINEX, and hop over to Orchard to get your fill of Korean fried chicken!
On the menu is the crowd favourite crunchy Bburinkle Chicken (S$34.90). In case you’re wondering what bburinkle is, it is simply a cheese and vegetable seasoning sprinkled over the crispy fried chicken and served with a Bburing Bburing dip.
The crunchy bburinkle bits kinda reminded me of crunchy cereal chicken from our local zichar. Personally, having tried the OG outlet in Korea, I would have preferred if they provided more of the seasoning on the chicken. The chicken was fried to a golden crisp and still very juicy inside — that’s how you know they did it right.
For those who are looking to get a spice kick, there’s also a Hot Bburinkle as well as the Hot Retro which provides a touch of crunch and spice.
My personal favourite is the Chi-Pongdang (S$34.90) which comprises a more flavourful shrimp and garlic seasoning sprinkled on the chicken. The Red King comes in second in my list of favourites at BHC Chicken for the sweet, spicy and super garlicky sauce.
Also available at this outlet are some hearty Korean mains like Pork Kimchi Stew (S$17.90) as well as the quintessential Samgyetang or Korean Ginseng Stew (S$22.90). There’s also Fish Congee (S$13.90), Kimchi Fried Rice (S$10.90), and Spicy or Rose Tteokbokki (S$14.90).
Probably the one dish that I will definitely be back for (apart from the fried chicken), is the Spicy Fishcake Soup (S$20.90). It had such a flavourful broth with generous amounts of fishcake. The broth had just the right amount of spice, although if you’ve got a low spice tolerance, it has a pretty strong spice kick — so consider yourself warned.
No trip to BHC Chicken is complete without getting one of the sides like the chewy savoury Sotteok (S$8.90) or iconic cheese balls (from S$7.90) that are filled with gooey molten cheese centre.
Available exclusively at this outlet is the Bburing Cheese Sticks (S$8.90) which is kinda like two chewy donut sticks stuffed with a rich and creamy cheese, topped with a coating of garlic, onion and cheese powder. It is chewy, sweet, and savoury all at the same time — definitely worth getting!
BHC Chicken Taste Orchard is having an opening special where you can receive a free Chicken Drumstick Plushie with a purchase of a whole Chi-Pongdang chicken — winner winner chicken dinner (or lunch)!
Plus, if you spend a minimum of just S$30 in a single receipt, you can enjoy a set of BHC Chicken’s signature Original Cheese Ball for just S$1! You can also get the spicy fish cake soup for just S$14.90 — super value for money. The opening promotion ends on 28 January 2024.
So what are you waiting for? Time for some bburinkle fried chicken!
