Everyone claims that Queic by Olivia makes the best cheesecakes in Singapore. However, Cat & the Fiddle, on the other paw, are impawsible to resist, with consistent standards and affordable pricing.
In fact, they’ve rolled out two new concept stores recently, along with other must-try items on the menu!
These new concept stores are open daily from 11am to 10pm at either Westgate or Tampines 1 (westies and easties, we’re so jealous!) Unlike the rest of their outlets, where cheesecakes are for takeaway only, these concept stores encourage you to unwind and dine in. The best part? You’d get to enjoy Freshly Baked Basque Cheesecake (S$19.90) straight out of the oven!
There are also five unique ways to elevate the Basque Cheesecake experience—scoop on some ice cream, turn it into a Basque Cheesecake Affogato with a shot of espresso, blowtorch the top for a crème brûlée-style finish, dip crackers into the gooey, creamy centre, or spread it over bread for a satisfying snack. From our experience, we enjoyed it most with crackers—the mix of crispy, salty crackers with creamy, gooey, sweet cheesecake makes for a flavourful combination.
If you prefer to enjoy your Freshly Baked Basque Cheesecake on its own, that’s no problem! Warning—the cheesecake may be too creamy and sweet for some’s liking. Luckily, you can choose the level of sweetness for each cheesecake you order (just like ordering your usual bubble tea).
Not much of a sweet tooth? Stick around to try their first-ever Italian-themed sandwiches (S$15.90). Made with large, thin Tuscan schiacciata bread, fresh greens, cheese slices, and a drizzle of olive oil, you’ll enjoy the crunchy exterior yet soft bite within the sandwich.
For proteins, you’ll get to choose from four mouth-watering options—Turkey Ham, Honey Baked Chicken Ham, Beef Pastrami, or Smoked Salmon.
These Italian sandwiches are first released at the Tampines 1 outlet, and will eventually make their way to the west side soon. With Cat & the Fiddle’s new concept stores, sandwiches, and freshly baked cheesecakes, they’ve definitely stepped up their game—and who knows? They might soon be known as the best cheesecake experience in Singapore!
