Malaysia Boleh! Jurong Point has officially reopened after months of renovation, now sporting a refreshed look alongside all your favourite Malaysian street food under one roof. The revamped food court houses 32 stalls from across Malaysia, featuring flavours from Penang, Petaling Jaya, and beyond. If you’re unsure where to begin, we tried over 30 dishes and narrowed down some of our favourites.

Damansara Chilli Pan Mee

For something hearty and comforting, Damansara Chilli Pan Mee serves up a wide range of noodles packed with bold flavours. We tried both the classic Chilli Ban Mian (S$5.50 for small) and Handmade Shrimp meat with Tom Yam Pan Mian Soup (S$7.30). We especially love the latter, which features chewy noodles in a rich, spicy broth that is both tangy and aromatic with every sip. 

Their noodles are specially made from a combination of flours, giving them that springy bite while preventing them from turning mushy even after sitting in the broth for a while. The noodle is also topped with crispy ikan bilis, adding a layer of crunch and savoury depth to the dish, while the bouncy prawn paste brings out a burst of sweetness and texture that pairs perfectly with the aromatic tom yam flavour. Every spoonful is basically packed with contrasting textures and a well-balanced flavour profile, making this bowl an incredibly satisfying meal, especially on a rainy day.

Huang Chao Teochew Noodle House 

Known for their authentic Teochew-style noodle dishes, Huang Chao Teochew Noodle also serves up a comforting bowl of Laksa (S$5) that we really enjoyed. 

The broth was heavier on the coconut taste, giving it a fragrant creaminess with just the right amount of richness. It also helps mellow out the heat from the chilli, making the broth smooth and easy to drink.

Since Huang Chao Teochew Noodle House specialises in a range of fresh fish and signature seafood soup, the laksa broth carries a distinct seafood sweetness and briny depth that makes it stand out from the usual versions. The flavour feels richer and more layered, especially with the aromatic herbs and punchy chilli blend running through the soup.

It is also generously topped with ingredients like crispy fried taukee skin and tau pok, both of which soak up the flavourful broth — a burst of richness and texture through the bowl. 

Ipoh Lau Wang Chicken Rice

One look at this stall’s glistening display of chicken was enough to convince us it would be good — and true to its appearance, the steamed chicken rice (S$5.60) is definitely one of the better ones we tried. 

The steamed chicken is served with skin and bone in, which helps lock in moisture and keep the meat extra tender and juicy. It’s also generously coated with the delightfully fragrant sesame sauce, which elevated its flavour. Considering the reasonable price point, the portions also felt surprisingly generous. If you’re looking for a classic, well-made chicken rice, you should definitely give this a go.

Seremban Kee Mei Siew Pau 

Seremban Kee Mei Siew Pow is well-loved among Malaysians for its traditional handmade pastries packed with flavourful fillings. Its signature offerings include classic Pork (S$2.20) and Chicken Char Siew Paus (S$2.20), wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust that makes them dangerously addictive.

For its Singapore outlets, the brand also introduced a Singapore-exclusive Black Pepper Pork Siew Pau (S$2.40) — which, naturally, we had to try. Fair warning, though: if you can’t handle spice well, this may not be for you. The pastry was generously packed with a fiery black- pepper pork filling that had us reaching for our drinks after every bite. If you’re a fan of bold flavours and spices, then this will likely have you hooked.

Huats Kee 

If you’re craving something indulgent, greasy, and savoury, this KL Hokkien Mee (S$6.50) is one to make a beeline for. Unlike the lighter, soup-based Hokkien Mee commonly found in Singapore, this version features thick noodles braised in dark soy sauce, giving the dish its signature smoky wok hei flavour.

The thick yellow noodles were especially satisfying, with a springy, chewy texture that soaked up the sauce beautifully. Flavour-wise, the noodles carried a rich smoky char without being overwhelmingly salty. Despite its dark, glossy appearance, it wasn’t excessively greasy, which made it a pleasant, comfortable eat that didn’t leave us feeling sluggish or heavy.

KL Salted Chicken Rice • Congee

Unexpectedly, this unassuming chicken rice and congee store served up one of our absolute favourite dishes. While its congee was good, the must-try here is its Salted Chicken Rice/Noodle (S$7.50). 

The chicken drumstick was served drenched in a herbal broth, garnished with red dates. As we cut into it, the tender flesh fell apart, revealing a steamy, moist interior that thoroughly soaked up the flavourful sauce. The deeply aromatic chicken completely blew us away, with herbal notes that added just the right amount of depth and complexity to the dish. Paired with a side of rice or noodles to balance out the sauce, this was a dish we knew we would come back for.

Kuantan Nasi Lemak

From afar, you will be drawn in by Kuantan Nasi Lemak’s iconic banana leaf-lined display and trays with freshly fried goodness. We tried the Chicken Wing Nasi Lemak (S$5), and the star of the show is definitely the chicken wing. Fried to a deep golden-brown exterior, the batter shatters perfectly upon the first bite, giving way to a satisfying crunch. You will be immediately hit with aromatic spices and a juicy interior that makes the chicken dangerously addictive. 

The savoury saltiness of the chicken balances perfectly against the sambal, which we found to lean on the sweeter note, toning down the spicy heat.

Do not be deceived by the simple-looking plate — every element comes together in perfect harmony to create a comforting and deeply satisfying meal. The slightly fluffy coconut rice carries a fragrant pandan aroma, pairing nicely with the crispy ikan bilis and roasted peanuts.

Drinks

From their extensive selection of drinks, we tried the Fresh Balonglong with Sour Plum Juice (S$4.50), which turned out to be incredibly refreshing. The drink carries a bold flavour profile that blends the natural tartness and fruity sweetness of the balonglong, creating a punchy taste that instantly cools you down.

With added sour plums, it adds that extra layer of tanginess and a subtle salty finish, balancing out the sharpness of the balonglong while giving the drink an interesting depth. It is a perfect thirst-quenching drink to cut through the heaviness of the street food dishes.

This June, one of the world’s largest science fiction and fantasy collections is making its global debut right here in Singapore. The Portals Experience is different from other exhibitions in that it will focus mainly on physical displays, rather than digital ones. 

Whether you are a reader, gamer or movie fan — if you love the sci-fi and fantasy genres, you will feel right at home.

8 themed zones

At its core, the Portals Experience is a journey, and will bring you across eight different ‘realms’, featuring many recognisable works from the sci-fi and fantasy genres. And instead of looking at screens, you will be looking at physical, tangible pieces of artwork. 

This includes more than 300 original paintings from some of the world’s greatest creators and fictional universes. You will get to behold the brushstrokes that created epic sagas and beloved characters.

Beyond paintings, you will also get up close with around 10,000 hand-painted miniatures. This includes three dioramas, which will allow you to witness one of the world’s largest recreations of Atlantis, a sweeping fantasy battlefield, and a visionary sci-fi future. Fans of tabletop games will absolutely love this.

But you won’t just look at miniatures. As you walk from realm to realm, you will encounter larger-than-life installations and sets that were hand-crafted to fully immerse you. Spanning 13,000 square feet, this exhibition will take you around 60–90 minutes to explore.

Exclusive merchandise

To complete your journey and remember your adventure through the eight realms, you can also get a hold of rare prints, postcards, and other merchandise. Some of these are ultra-limited, up to 100 editions each, and signed by their respective artists. Make sure to visit early if you don’t want to miss these!

The Portals Experience will open its gates at Fever Exhibition Hall from 1 June 2026 to 2 September 2026. Standard admission tickets for adults cost S$26 on weekdays and S$30 on weekends, while children can enter for S$17 and S$20 respectively. Tickets for seniors are priced at S$22 and S$26.

Debut of new dishes

Even if you have visited Casa Vostra at their first two outlets at Raffles Place and Jem, you would wanna visit Tampines Mall for new dishes that are making their debut exclusively at this outlet. For a period, these dishes will only be available here before being introduced in the other locations.

New signature pizzas

Let’s take a look first at one of my favourite dishes — pizza. Pizzas at Casa Vostra are made in-house, with a signature pizza dough that is cold-fermented for 36 hours before being fired in high heat.

The Prosciutto e Nduja Pizza (S$24++) is one of the new highlights of the menu. Topped with prosciutto cotto (cooked ham), Calabrian chilli pepper sauce, fried sage and smoked provola — pizza lovers like me will get to enjoy a rich, layered profile.

If you prefer a ‘red pizza’ rather than a ‘white pizza’, you can also try the new Margherita Affumicata (S$19++).  

Expanded pasta selection

Prefer pasta? Consider the new Agnolotti al Branzino e Gamberi (S$27++), which is a dish filled with seafood flavours in the form of sea bass and Argentinian prawns with capers. 

The Raviolone con Ricotta, Spinaci e Tuorlo Morbido (S$23++), on the other hand, is filled with ricotta and spinach, as well as a rich sauce made from egg yolk, burnt butter and sage. To complete your meal, you can also opt for something sweet from a range of drinks and desserts available.  

If you’re a Tampines or East resident, drop by Casa Vostra for a casual Italian dining experience in the heartlands.

The name of the store is derived from the Chinese words “陌” and “迹”, which mean “first impressions” and “lingering”, respectively. It highlights the café’s philosophy of being a space where people can slow down, find stillness, and soak in their environment. 

The 2-storey store is furnished with wood-panelled floors, windows and furniture, giving it a calming, earthy appearance. One of its most unique features is the display of beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic pieces, which are available for purchase. Each piece is intentionally modelled to represent seasons and festivals within the Chinese calendar.

Menu

Their menu is just as interesting, featuring a range of speciality coffees and desserts that are made fresh each day. Some signature drinks include Salted Cocoa Latte(S$12.80), Black Sesame Vienna(S$12.80), Hojicha Vienna(S$11.80), and more. 

Meanwhile, dessert selections feature inventive creations like the Cotton Cheesecake (S$12.80), presented in cheesecloth, resembling freshly strained cheese. Another interesting creation is its Soy Milk Cheesecake (S$14.80), which is a must-get if you’re a regular soy milk drinker. 

The Matcha Strawberry Cheesecake (S$15.80) also deserves the spotlight for its clean aesthetic, with fresh strawberries lining the cross-section, covered with an airy matcha mousse.

And the best part — you can pick out your own ceramic cup or plate for your food. This small interactive touch goes a long way in making the experience feel more personal and intimate.

If you’re looking for a meaningful escape from the city bustle, MOZmoji陌迹 is a refreshing experience to try. From its handcrafted tableware to its unique bakes and speciality drinks, the space is designed with intentionality, inviting you to appreciate the art and atmosphere while you dine.

As the café is currently in its soft launch phase, it will be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. If you frequent South Bridge Road, do consider dropping by for a quiet coffee break and a little moment of calm.

Alati Divine Greek Cuisine 

While many of us can’t afford to fly across the ocean for a coastal vacation in Greece, that shouldn’t stop us from enjoying their cuisine right here in Singapore. Enter Alati Divine Greek Cuisine, an elegant restaurant along Amoy Road with a white interior and blue accents that’s reminiscent of the iconic Greek aesthetic. 

It serves authentic Greek cuisine that’ll whisk you right onto the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The highlight of the restaurant is its fresh catch. Choose between 4 types of fish — Lavraki, Greek Seabass (S$14/100g), Tsipoura, Greek Seabream (S$14/100g), Fagri, Greek Red Porgy (S$15/100g), and Milopoki, Greek Stone Bass (S$15/100g). For an additional S$15, you can have it salt-baked — an ancient cooking technique where fish is baked in a thick layer of salt for a tender, flavourful finish. 

As one of the less mainstream cuisines found in Singapore, it’s definitely worth visiting if you like a foodie adventure.

Cafe Mary Grace 

Jollibee has long been hailed as the figurehead for Filipino food in Singapore. But that reign has now been challenged with the opening of Cafe Mary Grace’s first-ever store in Singapore. The café is a well-loved chain in the Philippines that has expanded to 140 locations ever since its first physical store opened in 2002. As the bakery makes its international debut, here’s what to look forward to at the cafe. 

The café’s selection of sweet and savoury pastries reinforces a “home away from home” identity with its home-made style and presentation. Their most popular items include the fluffy Ensaymadas (S$5.50), Cheese Rolls (S$4.30), and a rich, creamy Hot Chocolate (S$7.50). 

The savoury selection is equally appetising, with hearty fare like the Angus Beef Tapa (S$25.50) and Grilled Chicken Inasal Focaccia (S$19.50).

Shin Terroir 

Set along a row of beautifully restored shophouses on Tras Street, Shin Terroir is a discreet dining destination, hidden from the chaotic bustle of hurried commuters. Its simple wooden door, set against a whitewashed wall, appears modest and unassuming from the outside—yet the moment you step through, it’s like entering a different realm. Beyond lies an elegant, contemporary Japanese grill restaurant that feels sophisticated, yet warm and inviting.

Helmed by Chef Takeshi Nakayama, the restaurant evolved from a traditional Omakase format to an à la carte offering, lowering the barrier to entry and inviting a more accessible dining experience—while preserving the same standards of craft and precision.

This also gives guests greater freedom to shape their own dining experience rather than adhering to a pre-selected menu. Some highlights include A5 Wagyu Beef Tartare (S$28), Oyakodon (S$16), Ramen (S$18), and Seasonal Seafood Donabe (S$32), alongside other small plates.

Shin Terroir takes a modern approach to Japanese grill; the Yakitori here combines innovation with traditional techniques. Each ingredient is carefully selected by their head chef and grilled with precision for the best flavours and quality.

While the experience maintains its luxurious feel from its Omakase days, the price point makes it a reasonable go-to spot in the CBD. Signature skewers start from just $6, while Hokkaido-inspired small plates begin at $8, making it one of the most compelling value propositions. If you’re looking for a casual midweek indulgence, this place has all the quality without the formality of a traditional Omakase spot.

Complementing the food is an extensive beverage programme. Shin Terroir is one of the few restaurants in Singapore to carry the full range of Aramasa Sake, alongside a wine selection that highlights Burgundy and Champagne.

The experience is expanded with a cocktail menu with classic and contemporary selections designed to pair seamlessly with the grilled fare. Highlights include Whisky Honey ($18), Kyuri ($18), Matcha Sour ($28), Lemon Chu-Hi ($20), Highball ($18), and Oolong-Hi ($16).

Shin Terroir makes sophisticated Japanese dining accessible and affordable for anyone who frequents the CBD. Whether you’re a sake enthusiast or simply want some good Japanese cuisine, this underrated restaurant deserves a place on your bucket list.

Chico Loco 

Located in the heart of the CBD, Chico Loco is one spot you’ll want to bookmark for your next TGIF gathering. Decked out with fairy lights, hanging plants, and vibrant mural-covered walls, it creates a lively atmosphere that’s perfect for winding down over a leisurely meal and carefree conversations. 

It sells flavourful Mexican fare that’s great for sharing but can also be enjoyed individually. Crowd favourites include the classic Chips and Guacamole (S$10) and Pulled Beef Tacos (S$10) — but the true star of the show is its signature rotisserie chicken (S$38++ for a whole chicken). Brined for 8 hours before being slow-roasted and coated in a house-made spice blend, it’s juicy, smoky, and packed with flavour.

Of course, no Friday night celebration is complete without drinks. Luckily, Chico Loco also serves up a fun lineup of frozen margaritas and cocktails. Sip on playful concoctions like the Coconut Cinnamon (S$16) or Cherry Cola (S$16) as you toast to the weekend ahead.

AiFOKATO

As Singapore’s unpredictable weather takes a turn for the worse, this recently opened affogato store could not have popped up at a timelier moment. Between the sweltering heat and our crippling coffee addiction, AiFOKATO is set up for success. The cosy wood-panelled space invites you in with its viral treats such as the -86 Coffee and Butter Mochis from Korea. 

Spotlighting the signature Affogato, it’s sold with a DIY concept that lets you create up to 12 flavour combinations. Four gelato flavours: Madagascar Vanilla Gelato, Premium Korean Matcha Gelato, Callebaut Dark Chocolate Gelato, and lastly its signature Premium Pistachio Gelato—and three hot pours: Espresso, Hot Chocolate, and Matcha Pour. Their gelato is made egg-free and gluten-free, with clean, mellow flavours that can balance out the intensity of the espresso.

Noci Bakehouse

Korea has been killing it in every department lately—from beauty to pop culture to food, they’ve established a dominating presence on all fronts. And the latest craze to hit the Singapore markets is none other than Korean baked goods. Located in Suntec City, Noci Bakehouse is a new Korean cafe serving European-inspired breads, pastries, and other brunch selections.

The bakery rotates through 25 breads, so you’ll get the chance to try something new every time you visit. Some must-get items if you stop by are the Castella Milk Cream Salt Bread (S$5.50)—a buttery, airy dough, filled generously with sweet milky cream; Crème BrûléeDanish (S$8.50)—a French pastry topped with a crunchy caramelised layer, and the French Toast (S$15)—served with a caramelised base and soft custardy centre.

Kazbar 

It’s about time Middle Eastern cuisine got a little more love in Singapore. Fresh, hearty, and packed with fragrant spices, it’s an ideal choice for a casual yet indulgent meal. Kazbar is one cosy spot to satisfy those cravings, complete with warm lighting, laidback vibes, and a delicious aroma of charcoal-grilled meats filling the space.

Meat lovers can dig into the Mixed Skewers (S$32), featuring two skewers served with saffron rice, grilled vegetables, and spicy bread. For something more traditional, the Lamb Okra Stew (S$28) is an interesting option to try, as it’s not commonly seen in Singapore.

Slurp Your Oysters 

One of the vendors making an appearance at GastroBeats 2026 is Slurp Your Oysters, a crowd favourite known for its fresh seafood offerings. While its official festival menu has yet to be revealed, previous editions featured plump raw oysters paired with flavourful sauces like Thai chilli, alongside unique creations such as Negitoro Pie Tee. Seafood lovers can definitely expect a fresh and indulgent treat here.

My Cow Bae by The Swag Social

My Cow Bae will also be at GastroBeats 2026, serving the trendy beef cubes. Some common menu features include the Yakiniku Ribeye Beef Cubes (S$15/120g), Shoestring Fries (S$10), Chicken Pops (S$10), and more sinful snacks. 

Jett Barbecue 

Jett Barbecue is a homegrown Singapore smokehouse known for its authentic Texas-style BBQ, specialising in ultra-tender, 14-hour smoked USDA Prime beef “dino” ribs. The rich, smoky flavours and fall-off-the-bone texture make it the ultimate hearty bite, perfect for fuelling a night of festive carnival fun.

Siblings Gelato 

Festivals can get real hot and sticky, especially in Singapore. Luckily, Siblings Gelato will be there to cool you off if you need an escape from the heat. The artisanal gelato brand carries a range of fun flavours, featuring Cotton Candy Cloud, Apple Pie, and Salted Gula Melaka Pecan. Papi’s Tacos

What makes this mall so unique is its past life as the former Nan Chiau High School building. Believing in the beauty of old architecture, this project breathed new life into the heritage site while preserving the culture and history it represents.

Personally, the venture was a success; while the graphics and stores felt trendy and appealing, the familiar school stairwell and narrow corridors kept its past alive and intact. And while various modern concept stores piqued our interest, the exploration still left us with a sense of nostalgia. 

Food and Beverage

The Coconut Club 

In an effort to highlight local culture, the mall houses many homegrown brands, one being The Coconut Club. The store was bathed in warm orange lights, decorated with woven chairs, baskets, and decor that gave it a resort-like feel. 

Menu-wise, they sell local cuisine such as Singaporean Seafood Laksa (S$26) and Signature Ayam Goreng Berempah (S$21). Although prices are steep, they justify it with their locally and ethically sourced produce, supporting small businesses and sustainable practises.

Huevos 

Huevos is a Mexican food store that’s been pulling in crowds and racking up rave reviews since its opening in 2021. New Bahru is its second location and leans more towards a hip, trendy vibe with its mural-covered walls, fairy lights, and rustic touches.

The store is well-known for its authentic Mexican dishes. Some of the absolute classics you must try are the Birria Beef Tacos (S$21.90 ), Baja Fish Tacos (S$21.90), and Loaded Nachos (S$24). 

For drinks, they keep the fiery Mexican spirit alive with Frozen Pina Colada Jugs (S$50), Horchata, a cinnamon rice milk (S$8.90), a Margarita Jug (S$50), and more. Share a jug between your friends, and you’re guaranteed some good times and good vibes. 

Lifestyle and fashion stores

Crafune

Crafune is another local brand that aims to share the therapeutic act of leather crafting through workshops. They offer a variety of fun options, such as the Sea Turtle Mirror Bag Charm (S$75), Stingray Luggage Tag (S$75), Baya Bag (S$195), and more. 

They also carry a range of unique leather products, including Xiao Long Bao Handbags (S$180) and Mini Totes (S$98). Between the cute designs and the interesting workshops, this is one store we definitely recommend checking out.

The Missing Piece

The Missing Piece caught our eye with its elegant storefront and stylish apparel. Specialising in women’s wear, the brand draws inspiration from Asian heritage and botanical elements. 

Among its standout pieces is the Signature Lace Cut-Out Cheongsam with Sleeves (S$280), an intricate and beautifully crafted design. With its distinct aesthetic, it’s a spot fashion lovers won’t want to miss.

Entertainment  

Woods in the Books 

Woods in the Books is a homegrown independent bookstore specialising in picture books and illustration-led titles. A great stop for families, the vibrant space is filled with colours and crafts, with shelves stacked full of charming, artful books.

From imaginative stories to educational picks, each book is brought to life through engaging visuals that keep readers hooked. One standout is A History of the World in 500 Maps, which breaks down complex historical events into digestible, visually compelling formats.

TopTable

TopTable is a playful, one-of-a-kind concept that blends dining with games, reimagining the classic sport of table tennis into a social experience. The lively space invites guests to rally, dine, and unwind all in one spot.

Beyond its professional-grade tables, the venue also serves up Neapolitan-style pizzas, bar bites, and creative cocktails—perfect for fuelling friendly competition. Whether you’re planning a casual hangout or a group outing, TopTable delivers a fun and energetic experience.

New Bahru also has its own shuttle service that departs every 30minutes, timing may vary due to road conditions. The pick-up is at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Orchard, which is along Somerset Road.

The latest of their ventures is the Superstar Café and Boutique, a newly opened Sanrio-themed store by Universal Studios Singapore.

At first sight, the place looks like a mix of retro diner and Barbie, with pastel pink lining every corner of the store. The retail section is stocked with shelves full of themed stationery, accessories, and collectables that feature the most iconic Sanrio characters. 

Some of our favourites include the adorable Cinnamonroll sling bags, Kuromi varsity jackets, and the Hello Kitty and My Melody caps. The incredible range of merchandise and designs means there will be something for everyone, whether it’s a maximalist character bag for your child or a more subtle souvenir to add a pop of cuteness to your life.

The café section stays right on theme with its food, with the fluffy character-inspired bombolones, Italian stuffed doughnuts, taking centre stage. It comes in 5 flavours, each representing a character—blueberry for Kuromi, strawberry for My Melody, apple cinnamon for Cinnamonroll, mango for Pompompurin, and raspberry for Hello Kitty (S$9.50 each).  

Other sweet creations include the 3 lattes—Pompompurin Caramel Latte (S$10), Cinnamoroll Vanilla Latte (S$10), Kuromi Dark Chocolate Latte (S$10)—served with a layer of smooth foam and the character motif stamped on top.

You may also come face-to-face with your favourite characters as the store is hosting Meet and Greet sessions. Beyond that, you’ll find plenty of fun photo spots that are perfect for the feed.
