Chocolate is cheaper than therapy.

Life may be tough at times, but it’s nothing that a little chocolate can’t fix (or so we hope)

Anyone who loves chocolate or has a sweet tooth is in for a treat — seriously you’d never imagine what this store has to offer.

Chocoelf is a local chocolatier store that specialises in sugar-free chocolate, confectionaries, and SG-inspired treats.

As they were established in 2005, you can expect to find many quirky local flavours (think of them like an Asian Willy Wonka).

This time, they’ve collaborated with three other local brands to create savoury-sweet chocolate bars using flavours that are well-loved amongst Singaporeans.

Never would I have imagined myself tasting Fragrance Foodstuff’s Fluffy Chicken Floss Chocolate Bar

The chicken floss crisps gave it a nice texture and bite to the otherwise creamy milk chocolate. I just wished that the flavour of the chicken floss was more prominent, but it was still pretty good nevertheless.

Afterwards, we had Tai Hua’s Umami Soy Brew Chocolate Bar — think of it as an Asian twist on salted caramel.

Personally, this bar was our favourite because it had a rich and umami flavour from the soya sauce. And since they used dark chocolate, it wasn’t too sweet and the flavours went well with each other.

Coffee lovers would definitely love Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee’s Black Cold Brew Chocolate Bar

The aromatic notes from the cold brew coffee was perfectly infused into the luxurious dark chocolate without tasting too acidic or bitter.

There are other local flavours including Orchid Vanilla, Nanyang Coffee, Chilli Pepper and Kaya Toast starting from S$10.90 in-store.

I can see why the latter is so well-loved amongst the public as it had a pleasant pandan fragrance and a delectable melt-in-your-mouth texture.

You’ll be spoiled for choice as they have a plethora of chocolate Barks starting from S$5.50

Each bar sports chunky slabs of unique flavoured chocolate bars with macadamia nuts. Think Sassy Sesame, Matcha Missy, and Yogurt Beetroot and more — some of which are actually sugar-free.

If you prefer something more traditional but classic, go for the Fresh Chocolates (S$7 for box of 2).

There are an assortment of novelty flavours to choose from like Arabica Kopi, Earl Grey, Blueberry Bliss, Ondeh Melaka , Kaya Pandan and so much more.

You can even show your appreciation for a loved one by getting them these chocolates with wordings on it like “Thank You!” and “Happy Birthday To You”.

Asides from the chocolate bars, there are other confectionaries like Gelato (S$5 for a single scoop) or the Chocolate Tart (S$8.50) — a crisp buttery tart shell filled with rich ganache, topped with chocolate coated almond and gold-shined chocolate.

If you’re looking for a unique gift, consider getting the Mahjong Set (S$42) that could actually be mistaken for the actual tiles — sure to impress anyone.

There are simply too many chocolate-inspired treats at Chocoelf to choose from and we’re practically spoiled for choice.

The next time you’re in the mood to indulge in some local-inspired chocolate or get a special gift for a loved one, you know where to go!
