Imagine frothy strawberry syrup lakes, colourful bubblegum trees, stairs made of creamy wafer sticks, ice cream sundae water fountain, gingerbread houses, lollipop fences, macaroon stools and candy cane branches…
That’s what you can expect at Great&Grand Sweet Destination, a candyland-themed cafe and dessert park just one and a half hours from Bangkok (in Pattaya!).
It’s almost like a scene right out of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, but this real-life candy wonderland is the perfect place to explore if you love ice cream, desserts and all sorts of sweet treats – and if you love visiting imaginative places chockful of photo ops.
You don’t need a golden ticket to come here, but you’ll feel just like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory as you wander through the candy-coloured dessert park.
Here’s where you can explore all sorts of treats, and slide your way through the oohs and ahhs of the yellow taffy slide at the bubblegum tree – just don’t expect to see any Oompa Loompas popping out to say hi.
There’s also a cafe on-site (obviously) where you can load up on desserts while you rest after some time at the dessert park!
Get the crazy ice cream stack, indulge in a sundae or two, it’s entirely up to you.
They’re also known to offer “Pattaya’s best ice cream” with 36 unique ice-cream flavours from Gummy Bear and Pony’s Milk to Monkey Island and Double M.
If you’d really love to make your way here, but you’re not too sure about heading to Pattaya, you should know that Pattaya is now one of the most family-friendly destinations in Thailand with a plethora of family-friendly activities and attractions available.
While some people might have an impression of Pattaya as a place for nightlife entertainment. Pattaya has progressed far from what it used to be and plenty of Bangkokians (and local Thais from other parts of Thailand) love making their way over for the weekend or holidays with family.
Alternatively, you could also consider doing a combined Bangkok and Pattaya trip to make the most of your time in Thailand – since we have dearly missed our annual trips to one of our favourite holiday destinations for the past two years!
