Just 20-minute drive away from JB Central, Chuan Tian Fu is a late-night supper spot that serves satay celup

For those who are wondering, the concept is basically similar to lok lok, just that the skewers are dunked and cooked in a boiling pot of satay gravy rather than fried or broiled in a steamboat.

Nonetheless, you can look forward to a rich, thick and aromatic gravy sauce mixed in with lots of fragrant spices to take your tastebuds on a whirlwind adventure.

Here’s a tip: you can adjust the level of spiciness from normal to extra spicy depending on how much heat you can take. Of course, it also comes with a side of fresh cucumbers to cut down the greasiness and make it less jelak.

The best part is, prices for the skewers start from just S$0.28 (RM1) each and there are over 80 types of meat, seafood, and veggie skewers to feast on to your heart’s content.

Chow down on cult favourites like cheese tofu, beancurd skin, pork belly, hotdog enoki, crabstick, potato and so much more.

Don’t forget to pick up a stick or two of Mantou to really soak up all the savoury goodness from the broth itself. And if that isn’t enough to convince you, there are the staple fresh seafood options as well like  octopus, crab, and prawn.

I don’t know about you, but the best way to enjoy your lok lok is with various dipping sauces as it adds another dimension of flavour which makes it even more fun to eat.

Thankfully, Chuan Tian Fu also offers a variety of dipping sauces including sweet chilli, mustard, mayo or zesty Thai green chilli,

Did I mention that this place is open till midnight from Mondays to Thursdays and 2am on Fridays and the weekends? Now you can satisfy those cravings whenever you please.

Are you in the mood for saucy lok lok?
