Visit Flower Dome for its sunniest theme of the year, covered in sunflowers, elephants, Jaipur monuments, and more

by Jae-Eryana Fitri

Lilies, daisies, roses, baby breaths, and asters are just some flowers that we absolutely adore. But me? I’ve only ever had my eyes on sunflowers. Maybe it’s the bright, bold colours or the happy energy it emits, but they’ve always been my flowers.

It’s delicate and difficult to grow them in tropical Singapore, so I’ve learnt to cherish every single stalk and bouquet I’ve ever received. So you can probably imagine my excitement when I found out about Gardens by the Bay’s latest floral theme—Sunflower Surprise

Tucked away inside the chilly and cool Flower Dome, surrounded by locals and tourists, is where you’ll find yourself completely mesmerised by an ocean of golden petals and soft brown disc florets. From 22 October 2025 to 16 November 2025, the Sunflower Surprise exhibition will be in full swing and trust me when I say, this is an exhibition you definitely won’t want to miss.

Take a stroll through the sunflower fields, breathe in the floral air, and snap some seriously photoworthy selfies with your favourite people.

And here’s the fun part— not all sunflowers are yellow! Look closely and you’ll spot them in shades of deep maroon, fiery orange, soft purple, and even chocolate brown. I was surprised to learn that there are actually tons of species and every sunflower is different in its own special kind of way.

One of the coolest things about this whole exhibition is that it’s inspired by the vibrant city of Jaipur, India, where you’ll get to relish in the Indian culture itself. With towering pink monuments and even an elephant statue, the exhibition makes you feel as if you’ve been transported to Jaipur instead of Singapore.

Since the theme draws from Jaipur’s rich cultural history, the space is filled with iconic monuments that pay homage to India’s Pink City. Two standouts instantly caught my eye, which were the majestic Amer Fort Courtyard and the historical Hawa Mahal

The Amer Fort Courtyard doubles up as the administrative seat and a pleasure palace during the Kachwaha dynasty, which is a cool, fun fact that not many people are aware of.

Its soft pastel yellow walls, shimmering blue water, and vintage Persian wheels make the setup feel so dreamy, as if you’re experiencing the real deal.

Then there’s the Hawa Mahal, towering proudly at 5 metres high and 10 metres wide. That’s equivalent to four adults standing on top of each other!

Often called the Palace of Winds, the original monument sits in Jaipur’s Old City, but this re-creation brings a slice of royal grandeur right here to Gardens by the Bay.

Tickets start from just S$12 for adults, and S$8 for seniors and kids, so it’s a pretty sweet deal if you’re planning to check out the sunflower display. But if you’re already there, you might as well go all out and explore both the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. The tickets are S$34 for adults, and S$29 for both seniors and kids

If you’re a tourist who eagerly wants to soak up the full Gardens by the Bay experience and share the magic with your travel companions, the tickets will be  SS$46 for adults, and S$32 for children. You may find out more about the ticket details and bundle options on their website here

I’ve already snagged my tickets and planned my outfit for the day—guess I’ll be seeing you there too?
