Hankang Pocha’s newest venture is a three-in-one concept with a dine-in restaurant, takeaway cafe, and even a ramen “library”. And have I mentioned the free, unlimited banchan and ice cream?

If the name rings a bell, that’s because the brand is already a familiar face, with three other outlets along Serangoon Road, Tanjong Pagar, and Causeway Point’s Food Republic.

But enough about these other outlets! Hankang Pocha has landed in City Square Mall, and here’s what to expect.
Seating is cosy, with small square tables and tiny stools, so it’s probably not the spot to roll up to with 10 friends at one go.

Let’s start with the main menu. All the crowd-favourites are here, such as the Ginseng Chicken Soup (S$16.80), simmered for over 10 hours, and the classic Jajangmyeon (S$12.80).
There’s also the hearty Angus Beef Sotbap (S$18.80) and the indulgent Jeju Abalone Congee (S$22.80).

For sharing, look to the Chicken Feet Tteokbokki Pot (S$28.80), Angus Rib Kimchi Pot (S$36.80), or the Army Stew (S$22.80).
Sides include Korean Pork Suyuk (S$18.80), Seafood Pancake (S$16.80), and the comforting Stone Pot Egg Custard (S$6.80).
Over at the banchan station, it’s a buffet lover’s dream come true. You’ll be getting your steps in, because there’s no limit to these free side dishes.

If you’re an avid K-Drama watcher, you’ll already guess what’s available: Spicy Tofu, Kimchi, Watercress, Fish Cake, Braised Potato, and Sausage.
There’s also free ice cream if you’re struggling to cool down from the spice.
As for the ramen “library”, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Shelves upon shelves are stocked up with the best instant noodle brands, like the fiery favourite Samyang Hot Chicken Instant Ramen x2 Spicy.

Everybody knows getting the Binggrae Banana Milk is a rite of passage when you’re in Korea, but you can now get it here, along with flavours like Taro, Melon, and Chestnut.
Before you leave, make a pit stop at Korner Coffee. The Dirty Camelot Caramel is their take on a Korean Dalgona Latte (and no, it’s not the frothy coffee that basically lived on your TikTok For You Page during the pandemic).

The one features actual Korean Honeycomb Candy, a melt-in-your-mouth sugar bomb.
It seems like nobody is immune to the matcha mania this year, as there’s also the Strawberry Matcha.

Hankang Pocha claims to be the most affordable pocha in Singapore, but you’ll have to head down to see if the taste lives up to the hype.
