This affordable hotpot chain has Mid-Autumn Set Meals with Iberico Pork, taro-sweet potato balls, and more

Mid-Autumn Festival is all about reuniting with your loved ones, and what’s a better place to celebrate a gathering than a hotpot restaurant, over a bubbling pot of hot soup, shared sides, and good conversation at a low cost?

From now till 31 October 2025, Hi Hot Pot is offering three specially curated Mid-Autumn Set Meals* for you to enjoy an intimate meal with family and friends this season.

I roped in a colleague to join me to test out the place before recommending it to our dearest readers. We got the Full Moon Harmony Value Set for two pax at S$29.90. If you’re dining with a bigger group, you may also want to get the Moon Harmony Group Value Meal at S$49.90 for four pax.

The meal was largely customisable as we had the option to choose one broth, three preferred meats, two vegetables, two stapes, and a side dish.

For the soup base, we ordered the Seven Treasures Mushroom Soup at no additional cost. But if you’re not into mushrooms, you can also choose either the Classic Sichuan Mala broth or the Plain Tomato Soup at no additional cost.

I was elated that the hotpot restaurant offers Spanish Iberico Pork, because no hotpot is complete without this “Wagyu of pork”.

Aside from that, I also selected the kid-friendly fish fillet (again, if you’ve been reading my articles, you’d know that fish bones love me).

Since it’s the season of reunion, I wanted to choose something that is child-friendly so that anyone of any age could enjoy the meal. And I’m more than happy to say that the fish is perfectly safe for children! It is tender, with a lack of seafood’s typical fishy taste.

We could also choose two classic dishes like the Shrimp-Flavoured Fish Roe Ball, and Mung Bean Noodles. The noodles were chewy, but did not have any hint of mung bean’s taste in them. If your goal is to eat as much as possible, this is not what you should get because it didn’t embody much taste, and I felt satiated after devouring just one.

The one item that stood out to me most was the Taro-burst Sweet Potato Balls. They were crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I knew that I would be back just for this when I took my first bite into it.

Condiments and drinks only go at S$1 per pax. If you compare this with other hotpot franchises, Hi Hot Pot’s charges are easily one of the lowest in town.

One thing I look forward to at every hotpot restaurant I visit is concocting my own sauce dip. The perfect time to channel your inner wizard is when you’re waiting for the food to arrive. Spend enough time brewing the ideal sauce, and you’ll find the food on your table when you return. This works especially well when I’m ravenous.

If you’ve had a bit too much at the end of your meal, head to their drinks counter to DIY your own tea to wash off all the greasiness sitting in your stomach after a heavy meal.

While the food itself wasn’t particularly fantastic, it was an enjoyable and wallet-friendly experience. I see myself going back to enjoy a simple meet-up with my friends who I haven’t met in a long time.

For my fellow introverts, you can also get a complete solo hotpot experience for S$16.90 if you’ve had enough interacting with people for the day. My inner introvert is rejoicing.
