The “Land of Smiles” never fails to impress anyone with its warmth and hospitality.
Travelling in Bangkok uplifts my mood, but it takes a lot more to make me happy, and one way to get a smile on my face is these three words — Cute, theme, and cafes (just like this Airplane Themed Cafe in Bangkok).
Since October 2023, Huus Plate Cafe has been a pet-friendly cafe that hosts various themed events, such as the “Dino & Friends” themed event in July 2025, and a previous themed event in collaboration with Thai artist Plaifah Postcard.
Now, in their recent collaboration with Huus of Bread, their current “Welcome to My Cozy Huus” project is a theme surrounding Dachshund dogs.
Here are my recommendations for what you should try when you visit the cafe.
DIY Dachshund Cake
I understand the struggles of adopting a Dachshund dog and not being able to commit to it, due to a hectic lifestyle. Just for now, perhaps you could adopt a Dachshund dog, in cake form?
With just 1,150THB (S$46), you will be given a Dachshund-shaped cake as the base, unlimited sugary sprinkles, and pastel creams to decorate your cake.
Do note that there are only three cake flavours to choose from — mixed berry, lemon curd, or dark chocolate.
The DIY set also includes one free drink, and is limited to two pax per set, exclusively available on a reservation basis only, so do reach out to them via LINE or Instagram to make a booking in advance.
The OG Hot Dog & Curly Fries
If sugary and sweet cakes are not your thing, fret not, as there are savoury options such as the OG Hot Dog & Curly Fries at 295 THB (S$11).
Topped with melted cheese and bolognese-based sauce, the pork-based hot dog rests comfortably within a fluffy bun.
Unlike the Dachshund DIY cake, the hot dog sits on a plastic decorative Dachshund stand (please don’t attempt to eat it.)
Price-wise, it is slightly costlier than street food, but how can you say no to the cheesy goodness and puppy eyes?
Caramel Pudding & Cookie
You can complete the entire experience with the Caramel Pudding & Cookie for just 185 THB (S$8). The caramel pudding is complete with whipped cream, cherry, rainbow sprinkles and a mini Dachshund-shaped cookie.
If you are full but your eyes crave for more cuteness overload, feel free to kidnap the mini Dachshund-shaped cookie back home as well.
Of course, visiting it once may not be enough, and you may visit the cafe frequently until 1 November 2025.
No Dachshund dogs were harmed in the making of this review.
