If there’s something that I always looked forward to every year as a student, it’s definitely the June holidays. Anyone else? 

It can be nice to catch a short break from the hectic school life filled with never-ending assignments and exams. 

However, one thing that I’ve always struggled with is not knowing what to do when the holidays actually arrive. Most times I’d often find myself scrambling to search for the latest event to attend or just staying in. 

For those who are facing a similar situation, here are seven family-friendly activities for the June holidays 2024 including a kid-friendly edutainment centre, multi-sensory park, escape rooms and more.

2. Kidzania

Does your child ever dream of becoming a doctor or firefighter? 

Well, now they can at the revamped Kidzania: an edutainment centre with over 60 hands-on role-playing activities specially made for those aged 4–17 years old. 

Tickets start from S$29–S$60 and parents or caretakers can purchase their own ticket if they need to tag along for supervision. 

This would be the perfect opportunity for the little ones to roam freely in a child-sized city where they can become anything and everything that they want this June holidays 2024. 

Imagine being a radio DJ, pilot, or even a chef where you can DIY your own pizza and chips. With so much to do and explore, you’ll easily spend a fun-filled day here.

3. The Xperience

Be transported back to the 70’s at The Xperience in Clarke Quay from now till 31 July. 

You can expect to find the popular retro roller rink pop-up, Rollermania 4.0, which some of you may already be familiar with from the one at Plaza Singapura. 

However, the rink at CQ is much bigger this time as it spans over 4,000 sq ft alongside a “concrete jungle” theme. 

Tickets start from just S$28 for off-peak single ticket including equipment rental. Or you can just get the 60-day pass from S$95 (off-peak period) and S$99 (peak period) if you wanna stay active throughout the holidays. 

Don’t forget to check out Singapore’s first ever White Rabbit Pop-Up with unique and delectable milkshakes to try out. Afterwards, head over to The Xmmersive Games for carnival games and claw machines.

4. Coastes

If you’ve no plans to travel to Bali this June holidays 2024, here’s another way that you can still have a laid-back beach day with friends or families without breaking the bank. 

Coastes is a popular casual beachfront bar and restaurant situated on Siloso Beach Sentosa, just a stone’s throw away from Sentosa Beach Station. Enjoy a leisurely brunch of hearty mains, beach bites or breakfast options while you lounge on the sunbeds right by the water’s edge.

From 9am to 3pm daily, savour hearty menu items like the vegetarian-friendly Mushroom Truffle & Poached Egg Muffin (S$16++) or Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs (S$18++) and Spam & Egg Breakfast Sandwich (S$16++). 

The latter sports lightly-crisped savoury spam with juicy burnt butter pineapple in between a toasted brioche bun — a classic combination that anyone can enjoy. 

But, if you want something more filling, I’d suggest visiting from 11am onwards to choose from their extensive range of pastas, burgers, pizzas and more. 

Seafood lovers should opt for the Tiger Prawn & Bacon ($28++), Chorizo & Baby Scallops ($26++) or Chilli Crab (S$26++) risotto — a refined twist on the iconic Singaporean dish with chunks of blue crab in a sweet-spicy sauce. Pair it alongside their daily, all-day beer promos like the 1664 Lager Jug (S$30) or 1664 Blanc Jug (S$34).

For those who are planning a family day out, the small bites and sweet treats will be right up kids’ alley. You can’t go wrong with the Fluffy Pancakes (S$12++) or decadent Sinfully Good Chocolate Fudge Brownie (S$14++) served with salted caramel gelato.

5. Despicable Me 4 Mega Mission

Get ready for an action-packed adventure at Despicable Me 4 Mega Mission from now till 14 July (11am–9.30pm, daily) at Suntec City. 

From activation rooms and obstacle courses to mind puzzles and larger-than-life photo opportunities, this event zone is filled with thrilling missions for 3–12 years old. 

Pro tip: this pop-up is open to all Suntec+ members who register for a free slot at the event!

After completing the various missions, you’ll even get to earn the highly coveted AVL (anti-villian league) badge. 

For those who didn’t manage to get your hands on it, don’t fret, because the retail corner is decked with quirky merchandise including minion plushies, t-shirts, and toys.

Don’t forget to say bello and snap a shot with your favourite characters, Stuart and Kevin during the meet-and-greet.

6. LOST SG

Up for something more mentally stimulating? 

Put your relationship to the test this June holidays 2024 at LOST SG in GR.iD mall with five exhilarating 60-minutes escape rooms to choose from. 

Regardless of whether it’s your first time or if you’re a pro at solving mind puzzles, there are varying levels of difficulties to suit everyone’s skills. 

Alcatraz 2.0 — which is a prison-themed concept — really tests your teamwork as you’ll be separated from your members at the start. 

Alternatively, Castiglione 2.0 (the hardest room amongst the five) requires detail-oriented and physical strength on your part. 

Price-wise, it’s S$23.90 per pax during off-peak hours from 11am to 5.30pm on weekdays and S$29.90 per pax during peak hours from 5.45pm onwards and on weekends.

7. Sensory Scape

Nestled in the heart of the island, Sensory Scape is a free experiential multi-sensory park with six distinct zones alongside interactive digital light art and nature-inspired soundscape. 

Spanning across 350-metres, it’s easily accessible and connects guests from Resorts World Sentosa to the golden beaches.

That being said, anyone of all ages can enjoy this park as there are tons of IG-worthy spots. 

Think towering flower stalks in rhythmic light hues at Glow Garden, virtual sea creatures at Palate Playground, and illusionary butterflies with flowers at Scented Sphere. 

It’ll certainly be an enchanting experience for the little ones, not to mention a feast for their eyes.
