Anyone who’s been to Bangkok will most likely have visited Big C Supermarket and shopped up a storm there. There’s no lack of interesting (and delicious) Thai snacks and treats to stock up on – from creamy tom yum instant noodles to the best Thai potato chips (Tasto Pla Sam Rod!!!).
Guess what, here in Singapore, we now no longer have to travel all the way to the supermarket at Golden Mile Complex just to stock up on our favourite Thai snacks thanks to Rama Bear Mart.
With the slogan of “bringing Thailand closer to you”, the owner of Rama Bear Mart has stocked the 2-storey Thai mart with all things Thai.
Located at Jalan Besar, here’s where you’ll find a plethora of Thai goods from snacks to soaps and even Thai 7-11 readymade food!
Upon walking in, you’ll be greeted with fridges containing racks of familiar Thai drinks, shelves of Thai snacks, and even a shelf filled with beauty products that looks just like the ones in a Thai 7-11.
There’s even a small range of the ever-popular Snail White products!
Don’t forget to check the little fridge beside the counter stocked with a selection of ready-made Thai 7-11 food as well.
Depending on your luck (what’s available when you visit), there’s Grilled Pork Sticky Rice Burger, Thai Crispy Pancakes, Thai Pudding, and even the popular Thai 7-11 Croissant Sandwiches!
(There are dried Thai snacks available in front of the little fridge too such as the famous spicy crispy anchovies.)
Of course, you can’t miss the small cafe section at the front of the mart where you can even order freshly grilled Moo Ping (grilled pork skewers), pork balls, fried chicken skin, a variety of Cheesy Dip Fries, and even a set meal including Thai grilled pork collar in a spicy sauce with rice and a drink.
If you’re up for a nice cool drink, there are plenty of smoothies, milk tea, and coffee options available too.
Not satisfied with what you see on the first floor?
Head up to the second floor and you’ll find more snacks, Thai soaps (even ones for kids), and a variety of Thai sauces and ingredients to cook with as well.
They even have the yentafo sauce so you can make your own yentafo (Thai yong tau foo) at home!
Looking for the iconic ChaTraMue Thai tea or… fried catfish cake? Take your pick!
If you’re severely missing shopping at Thai 7-11 and Big C Supermarket, or if you’re just up for trying fun new snacks – this hidden gem awaits!
PS: If you have any specific Thai snacks or products you’d love to purchase, you can also enquire with the super friendly owner of Rama Bear Mart and she’ll be happy to help with it.
