With more Halal-certified spots like Nanay’s Kitchen and Jing Hotpot popping up, we’re always on the lookout for the next great find—and Restaurant Aisyah, an authentic Xinjiang eatery, fits the bill perfectly.

Arab Street is lined with countless Halal dining options, but Restaurant Aisyah stands out with its striking oriental Chinese exterior. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, look out for a signboard adorned with gold Arabic and Chinese characters—it’s hard to miss.

Step inside and choose between seating on the first or second floor. Both spaces feel warm and inviting, featuring wood accents and oriental artwork. Seats are limited, especially during peak hours.

Not sure what to order? Settle in, grab the menu and start with these must-tries. Before diving into the bestsellers, it helps to know what defines Xinjiang cuisine—hand-pulled noodles and fragrant chilli oil made from scratch.

At Restaurant Aisyah, you’ll find a wide range of meat options, including butterfly brisket, beef shank, and braised mutton. Among them, the Tongue-Tingling Beef Noodles (S$16.90) stands out as a cult favourite. The dish features freshly hand-pulled noodles coated in the restaurant’s house-blend chilli oil, topped with generous slices of beef tongue, greens, and garlic. One bite was all it took to understand why this bowl is a crowd favourite

Worried about the heat? No stress—you can customise both the spice level and the noodle type. Since we had a higher spice tolerance, we went for a spicier kick and thicker noodles. You can also choose between clear soup, spicy broth, or dry noodles, each delivering a deeply satisfying umami balance.

Complete your meal with a selection of starters and sides. We tried the Fried Dumplings (S$15.90), available with chicken, beef or mutton fillings. Each bite offered a satisfying contrast between juicy meat and crisp dumpling skin.

For something more traditionally inspired, go for the Chicken Skewers (S$15) or Mutton Skewers (S$19). Better yet, get both for under S$20? Seasoned with cumin and sesame, the skewers leave a fragrant, slightly numbing finish on the palate.
