The craziest part? The key to this is your brainwaves.
If you don’t believe me, then let this perfume workshop in Seoul called RETTRE do the talking. Yes, this perfume workshop lets you quite literally say the perfume came from your brain, and I’m here to sniff out how this works for you.
Best of all, you don’t have to worry about any language barrier as there are English-speaking staff members there. So this experience is totally foreigner-friendly!
Before you start packing your suitcases, hold your horses! RETTRE’s workshop requires you to reserve your spot.
Simply send them a DM on their Instagram account, where a Google Form will be provided. This is where the memory you intend to bottle up will come in, as you’ll have to upload a photo of that special memory in the form.
Once done, send them another DM to confirm your reservation.
Now you can start your whiff down memory lane.
Your journey at RETTRE’s studio begins with a memory survey before you’re ushered into a futuristic-looking room.
As if straight out of a sci-fi film, you’ll don headgear. Then, your brain’s reactions to a series of scents while you look at said photo will be analysed (pretty cool, right?).
Once the process is complete, your scents will be ranked according to your level of brain activity. While I will say getting your brain analysed is already pretty high on the coolness scale, the next step is where the real magic starts.
With the final perfume formula given to you, you can choose up to seven scents and gather them accordingly. Like a scientist, you get hands-on as you make your personal blend by carefully measuring out the different scents into the perfume bottle with a dropper.
Done with your science experiment? Then you can get your perfume bottle wrapped and sign it however you like!
And with that, you now have a unique souvenir to take home.
