The half-British, half-Singaporean owner of Straits Club left his job in the finance sector to set up a hawker stall to pursue something closer to his heart — the belief that local food lies at the heart of Singaporean’s identity.

This homely eatery serves up different variations of the famous local delight.

Their signature Boneless Berempah Chicken Nasi Lemak (S$9.90), comes with coconut rice, your choice of sauce, cucumber slices, onsen egg, ikan bilis and peanuts.

If you’re all about DIY, you can customise your plate of Nasi Lemak by choosing from the various proteins, like the 24-hour slow cooked Beef Rendang, Boneless Har Cheong Kai, Boneless Berempah Chicken, all at S$4 for one serving.

Add on Ikan Bilis, Roasted Peanuts, or Onsen Egg for S$1 each. In a pickle about your food choice? Get their Achar at S$2.50

Personally, I am most eager to try the 24 Hr Beef Rendang Nasi Lemak (S$10.90), even though this category of red meat is not my top choice.

The thought of it possibly being this thick, glossy sauce, slow-cooked to perfection, where each spoonful of sauce reveals different layers of umami, warmth, and spice, coupled with the tenderness of the meat just makes my mouth water.

Which Nasi Lemak variation are you most excited to try?
