September’s over, even though I am still mentally screaming and singing at the Mayday Parade concert (sigh).
Now it’s time we zoom in on October and explore all the things you can do with family, friends, and potential dates.
Here’s our list of exciting things happening in October that you should not miss out on.
1. Singapore Grand Prix

Dash through one of Singapore’s biggest annual international events, the Singapore Formula 1 (F1) Grand Prix.
From 3 October to 5 October 2025, ticketholders can expect to watch a thrilling live race where there is a possibility for Max Verstappen to clinch his first win on the Singapore track in 2025, or across the giant screens littered around the area itself.
Since the race will only begin later in the day, ticket holders can catch various live performances by Baby Metal, G-Dragon, CL, HANNA, and more, at different stages.

If you’re already a ticketholder but need a last-minute merchandise haul, don’t worry about needing to buy it before entry, because the merchandise booths are scattered around the walkabout area, close enough for you to snatch a Ferrari or Red Bull cap before rushing back to your seat before the race starts.
Be sure to stay hydrated with the numerous food & beverage stalls and booths around the area, as the area can get hot and humid during the day as well.

2. F1 After Parties

Perhaps the exhilarating race with fan favourites Max Verstappen and Lando Norris might not be your cup of tea, and you may opt for a night of endless parties during the hectic weekend instead.
There are definitely after-parties happening from 3 to 5 October 2025, and we have compiled a list for you to check out!
Even with the numerous parties ongoing, there is one particular event occurring at my favourite gig location, the Pasir Panjang Power Station, that caught my eye. On 3 October 2025, RaveDAO Singapore is hosting the ENL1GHT Festival.
Morten, Vintage Culture, Jiayu, and many other DJs will be spinning from 9pm until 3am. Attendees can enjoy back-to-back Tomorrowland hits, remixes from the comfort of Pasir Panjang Power Station.
Unfortunately, the early bird passes are sold out, and the GA Wave 1 tickets are S$188 onwards. You can get your tickets here.

3. Mid-Autumn Festival

Grab your lanterns, because we will be embarking to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with Gardens by the Bay from 22 September to 12 October 2025.
From the lantern giveaway on 6 October 2025 from 6pm onwards, mesmerising light installations, and workshops, Gardens by the Bay has everything that you need for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

A marketplace will also be stationed within the event itself, and attendees can expect to have their fill of candied hawthorn sticks, kachang puteh, assorted kuehs, and more.

Finally, you can end the night on a high note by catching the Garden Rhapsody’s Tales of the Moon show, consisting of dancing lights mimicking fireflies in the sky across the Supertrees.
Luckily, the show will be available twice a day at 8pm and 8.45pm, so make sure to head down in advance to secure a spot before it gets crowded.

Tucked away in the hustle and bustle of Paya Lebar, lies a Purrsamalam fair (Pasar Malam) based in Wisma Geylang Serai, from 11 to 12 October 2025 at 3pm to 10pm.
Similar to the usual Geylang Bazaar, the Purrsamalam is a marketplace dedicated to cats and also offers complimentary services like face-painting, henna, and cat grooming sessions, among many more.

For attendees who are die-hard cat lovers and looking for a sign to be a pawrent, then you definitely cannot miss this event: There will be a live cat adoption drive happening during Purrsamalam, where you might walk away with the furry child you have always dreamt of.
Additionally, try to be one of the first 150 attendees to arrive at the event so you can get a free complimentary bag to take home, making the whole experience purrfect.

Calling out to all board game fanatics, this is your chance to claim the National Monopoly Champ 2025 title.
The first qualifying rounds of the National Monopoly Championship take place on 12 October 2025 at Home Team NS Khatib.
Once you advance into the next rounds, you will be competing against other contestants until reaching the semi-finals and finals in December 2025 at the Singapore Comic Convention.
If the title itself is not enticing, then you should know that the first-place winner will bring home S$3,888 in cash, along with a pair of premium economy flight tickets to Hong Kong, and more.
Subsequently, second and third runner-up prizes are also enticing, but it’s always best to aim for first position, am I right?

6. Japanese Film Festival

If you’re more reserved and prefer a quiet setting in October, then you need to hear more about the Japanese Film Festival (JFF).
As part of the Singapore Film Festival (SFF), which takes place annually in November 2025, JFF will be running earlier in October 2025 by allowing public screening of Japanese movies that fit the 2025 festival’s theme of ‘projection’.
Some of these movies may not be internationally available, and are film specific competition winners, making them exclusive, especially when these screenings are available from 1 to 12 October 2025.
Be sure to catch iconic Japanese movies such as A Girl Named Ann, Love Hotel, SEVEN SAMURAI, 366 DAYS, and more, showing only at Golden Village Suntec.
There will also be an exclusive in-cinema post-screening questions and answers (Q&A) with the filmmakers themselves, where cinema-goers will have the privilege of hearing the filmmakers’ inspiration behind the movie’s production.
Find out more about the movie screening schedule from JFF’s website here.

7. G-Dragon’s ‘Übermensch’ exhibition

Übermensch is an exhibition to commemorate G-Dragon’s world tour, where the last stop is in Singapore, Jewel Changi, from 1 to 13 October 2025.
Fans and the public alike can head down to Jewel Changi Experience Studio, Level 4, and South Gateway Garden and Lookout, Level 2, to experience the multimedia exhibition.
There are interactive elements where visitors can step into a VR pop-up, where you will be standing side by side with (virtual) G-Dragon, or you can simply have a full-fledged photoshoot with your friends against his edgy, artistic backdrops as well.
In any case, this is my time to shine and claim myself as G-Dragon’s virtual Singaporean girlfriend.

8. TLM Food Fest

Announcing here for all my foodie friends that there is an upcoming food fair that will be taking place at Singapore Expo Hall 4B, from 10 to 12 October 2025.
This marks TLM Food Fest’s third run in 2025, where previously the event also took place back in April and January 2025. Now, attendees can expect to find an assortment of ready-to-eat and packaged dry food for you to buy and try at home.
Alternatively, you and your family can aim to be one of the first 500 attendees to redeem a complimentary gift bag. Then, you can also devour yourselves with the endless free tastings and yummy samples available.

Honestly, it’s a huge gamble for me to buy packaged food based on the mouthwatering illustrations, especially when I am the pickiest eater in Confirm Good.
Yet, it eases my heart knowing that I can try as many food samples as possible from 50 new brands that are debuting at TLM Food Expo.
Learn more about the event here, and make sure to visit on an empty stomach to make your visit worthwhile.

9. Oktoberfest at Brozeit

Exciting things are unravelling in October, where there are overlapping festivities and key events ongoing. There is one that I particularly enjoy more than the rest, which is the annual Oktoberfest.
Oktoberfest refers to a festival originating from Munich, Germany. Germans will gather with their loved ones and celebrate with traditional Bavarian food, drinks, party games, and more.
Many food establishments commemorate Oktoberfest in their own ways, and Brozeit’s ways are all-inclusive regardless of age.

Brozeit will start with all-day Happy Hour, hourly games happening after 6pm, and themed dress competitions at Central Business District (CBD) Brozeit outlets, until 24 October 2025.
For a family-friendly version, Brozeit will also host Family Brunch, Closing Party Night and Closing Brunch happening at their VivoCity outlet on 12, 25, and 26 October 2025, respectively.
It’s time to visit a rental costume store and make your best attempt at dressing up in Dirndl or Lederhosen outfits.

11. Baybeats Music Festival

Coachella, Zoukout, EDC, and many popular international music festivals are brands that we all know and love. However, there is one music festival that takes place for free in Singapore, and that is Baybeats.
Baybeats is a local music festival which runs from 30 October to 2 November 2025. Located by the waters and against the view of Marina Bay Sands, it has been running since 2002.
Unlike Coachella, which focuses on A-list bands and artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Baybeats take on a different approach and offer a stage for smaller, indie bands in Southeast Asia.
Catch to catch Chinese band The Upside Down, Japanese post-rock trio paranoid void, Yogyakarta-based band Jumat Gombrong, and many more performing at various stages near Esplanade.
The best part of Baybeats is that the music festival is free for all, so if you happen to be in the area, do join any of the stages and enjoy the live music with other fans.

13. Singapore Art Book Fair

Being a bookworm myself, it makes me happy knowing that the Singapore Book Art Fair is happening this month. There are a ton of different book genres that attendees can enjoy browsing through or adopt from the fair to bring home.
Maybe you’re on the road to recovery from your book shopping addiction, and you’re looking for something more cohesive and community inclusive.
The event itself has also arranged a series of free workshops, such as Fold Your Way to a Book, French Link Stitch Bookbinding, and many more that you can join and meet other like-minded individuals as well.

Saving the best for last, October is also known for the western version of the 7th Ghost Month, commercially known as Halloween.
While there are multiple exciting and spooky Halloween events happening this month, there is one that stands out as a Singaporean tradition regardless of religion or age: Universal Studios Singapore’s annual Halloween Horror Nights.
The key haunted house, Upside Down, is inspired by Netflix’s hit series, Stranger Things, where visitors can relive the horrors and thrills of the series coming to life.
There will also be other haunted houses, including Singapore’s Most Haunted: Build to Horror, The Unruly Immortals and Death Whisperer.
