When it comes to hidden dessert spots, everyone gets competitive to share their hidden spot in their neighbourhood. While many noteworthy spots like Creamier, Cheeky Cuppas, and even Cold Break Café have made their mark, we discovered a place that has yet to blow up online.
Lo and behold — waff waff! café.
In this tranquil neighbourhood in Ang Mo Kio, lies the cosy waff waff! café. From lurid yellow walls to mahogany seats, the interior is decked in warm tones, which is instantly inviting.
Upon entering, you’d be enchanted by the scents of waffles being made. Aside from the tempting scents, the very sight of the colourful gelato spread would convince you to have a cheat day—with flavours ranging from bittersweet 75% Dark Chocolate to savoury Coconut Pandan, sweet Lotus Biscoff, and nutty Pistachio.
If you’re in the mood for gelato, grab a single scoop for just S$4.50. If choosing just one flavour feels impossible, get a double scoop for only S$8. Personally, we believe it’s best to hold off on the gelato and check out their speciality — waffles!
Unlike other dessert spots, waff waff! prides itself on its iconic waffles—cream waffles and unique waffle fillings. The cream waffles are made out of fruit purée and fruit toppings, and paired with soft, milky cream. Surprisingly, the sweetness from the cream paired with the tanginess of the fruits elevates the overall waffle experience.
For their waffle series, there are four options—Mango, Strawberry, Oreo, and Biscoff. Each cream waffle goes for just S$8, and to sweeten the experience, you can opt for a single scoop of gelato.
Not a big fan of cream? Don’t worry! Similar to Cold Break, waff waff! also offers unique waffle fillings to elevate your sweet tooth experience. Choose between Mochi or Nian Gao (sweet, sticky rice), both available at an additional S$1, bringing each waffle to S$7.
Whichever option you go for, expect to enjoy a chewy sweetness wrapped in a waffle that’s crisp on the outside yet soft inside. If these choices feel overwhelming, you can always opt for the plain waffle (S$6), served with a generous chocolate drizzle.
Wash down the sweet treats with their Iced Drinks, which include Milk Teas, Classics like their Jasmine Green Tea (S$3.90), Earl Grey Tea (S$4.20), and Oolong Tea (S$4.20), as well as their Signature Fruit Teas. Personally, we’d recommend the Signature Fruit Teas, as the flavours help as a palate cleanser.
