Get your appetites ready, as 52 well-loved food brands from around Asia have set up kiosks at Takashimaya Square, B2, from now till 17 October 2022.

From familiar local favourites and savoury snacks, Japanese treats and sweet confections, to an extensive selection of international fare, there’s plenty to eat and buy at this epic epicurean event.

The selection of fresh and frozen produce, premium ingredients, and exquisite confectionery will definitely leave you feeling spoilt for choice.
You can find practically anything, be it ready-to-cook A4 Japanese wagyu and seafood from Man-Ten WAGYU and Kitaguni, truffle oil from Prodan Tartufi, sake from Yummy Yummy Japan, or Jeju tangerine vinegar from So Good K.

I was particularly excited about the selection of freshly-prepared Japanese ready meals, which fortunately did not disappoint, in terms of variety. Fancy some karaage and Tori Namban (S$7) from Tori Sanwa, or a Nihon unagi-filled A5 Premium Bento (from S$20) from Sabar Sushi & Unagi Shokudo? I want ’em all.

Alternatively, you can savour a taste of Taiwan in the form of Salt & Pepper Popcorn Chicken (S$5) and Classic Oyster Mee Sua (S$5) from Jyu Gae, which had the longest queues in the entire food fiesta.

Although the flavours of Taiwan, Japan, and Korea are dominant at this Food Fiesta at Takashimaya, slightly more Westernised offerings like rosti, bacon cheeseburgers (House of Seafood) and halal salt-baked chicken (Salt N Bake) are also available.
We really enjoyed the Swiss Rosti (S$8) with Chilli Crab (S$6) from Rosti Haus — crispy, pan-fried rosti that was prepared on the spot, and served alongside a piquant chilli crab sauce with creamy egg swirls.
You can even find a cheesy, spicy, and salted egg version with toppings like smoked duck, smoked salmon, and even beef tenderloin.

Other standouts include the Katsu Sando (S$9 for original, S$10 for cheese) and Japanese Curry Rice from Kimukatsu, as well as the flaky and buttery Apple Pie (S$5.50) from Daikoku-Ya.

If you enjoy all things chewy and oozy, be sure to stop by Maruamami for Mochi Obanyaki (from S$3.80 for 1pc) in crowd-pleasing flavours like Egg Custard, Black Sesame, and even Durian (from S$5.80 for 1pc).
Popping by Fukujuen for Matcha and Houjicha Soft Serve Ice Cream (S$7.50) is also a must — I’d opt for the latter, with its prominent roasted tea fragrance and nutty, bittersweet flavour, if I were you.
