Haw Par Villa is set to be scarier than ever this Halloween with extended hours for Hell’s Museum, three scare zones, a real coffin, an escape room and many more for two weekends only

Let’s be real here, Haw Par Villa is frightening — and that’s in broad daylight! I can’t imagine exploring the park late at night when I know figurines like the crab woman and sculptures depicting torture are displayed throughout.

Well, that’s soon a reality for some folks (not me though, y’all stay safe out there!) as Haw Par Villa’s crowd-favourite Haw Ror Villa is back for its third edition.

You know what they say: “it’s back and better than ever”, and this rings true for Haw Ror Villa. This year, the Halloween event has upgraded its scares with three new scare zones.

The first zone is Escape The Judges Wrath, an escape room experience held at none other than the iconic Hell’s Museum. Fun fact: do you know that the Hell’s Museum is the world’s first-ever museum on death and the afterlife?

Make sure to sharpen your puzzle-solving skills as you’ll need them to escape from hell. Just a heads up: the residents are keen to keep you here for an eternity, so don’t waste any time!

Your puzzle-solving skills will come in handy once again for the second zone — The Villa Has Eyes. Look forward to putting on your detective cap as you’ll be tasked to solve a notorious murder mystery at the park.

You won’t be alone for this as you’ll be guided by a lead detective (unfortunately, you’re still a rookie) but you’ll be haunted by restless spirits. As such, watch your back and ensure you don’t get caught in their grasp!

The third and final zone is The Shaman’s Bazaar, where you’ll be spending money (that’s another kind of scary) at the many booths offering artisanal Halloween-themed merchandise. You can also catch your breath with the various food and drink options.

If you’re not superstitious or easily rattled by death, here’s your chance to take things up a notch by lying in a real coffin (yes, you heard that right). You’ll have this encounter at the Rebirthing Experience in Tiger Pavilion.

However, for something chiller (no pun intended), you can discover more about the Disciplinarian of the Underworld and Hungry Ghosts at an exhibition at Cloud Pavilion.
