Even if you’ve yet to start manifesting, you can start off by visiting the one place a tai tai would hang out at on a weekday afternoon, and that is none other than La Savoir, a French-inspired cafe and restaurant in Scotts Square.

Think of it as a modern interpretation of a classic French brassiere, with interiors dressed in rattan furniture, soft lighting, and pops of Tiffany blue.

Even the walls are lined with exquisite nature-themed Hermès wallpapers, transporting you to a dreamy Parisian escape.

There’s even an intimate dining space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking views of Orchard Road if you want a bit more privacy (and to people-watch).

La Savoir specialises in contemporary French cuisine with an Asian twist served on — you guessed it — exclusive Hermès tableware.

They’ve got a menu for every hour of the day, from breakfast to afternoon tea, so it really just depends on what you’re in the mood for.

If you’re not keen on committing to the a la carte menu, go for the Set Lunch (S$48++), which is available from 11.30am–2.30pm on weekdays, inclusive of a soup, main course, and drink (coffee, TWG tea, or wine).

Keep it light with the tart yet creamy Tomato Burrata (U.P. S$17), or go down the fancy route with the Lobster Bisque (+S$7, U.P. S$24), served topped with lobster, zucchini, and basil oil.

As for the mains, the Chicken Ballotine (U.P. S$32), comprising free range chicken with black truffle shavings, butternut mousseline and a savoy cabbage parcel, is a fabulous, not-too-filling option.

Those who like heavier, bolder flavours can go for either the Smoked Duck Pasta (U.P. S$32), which is balanced out by the addition of yuzu cream and oranges, or the quintessentially French Beef Cheek (+S$10).

Also priced at S$48++ per person is the Afternoons At Savoir high tea set, ideal for those who desire the full tai tai experience.

You’ll get to tuck into sweet and savoury bites such as Truffle Mushroom Tart, Karaage Waffle with white sturgeon caviar, Matcha Brownies, and a selection of Petit Fours, accompanied by Scones and your choice of tea or coffee.

If a romantic dinner date is on the horizon, look no further than the L’Entrecôte at Savoir experience, during which you’ll get to dine on the iconic L’Entrecôte steak and fries (S$39.90++ for a la carte, S$57.90++ for set) from Paris. Each diner will also get a refill of steak and fries, which is honestly the best part.

Really, there’s no better place to channel your inner tai tai (as you strive to actually become one) than here, regardless of whether it’s at breakfast, lunch, tea, or dinner.

Reservations can be made here.
