I don’t know about you but sometimes, I just want to escape the city’s hustle and bustle.
But where to, on our Little Red Dot?
Well, if you know where to look, French restaurant Claudine has a new kid on the block tucked right behind it in its very own backyard.
Welcome to La Terrace, a welcome retreat and Claudine’s laidback extension. While the front of the house is polished, the backyard is a different story.

La Terrace is where your meals stay unhurried, and your hangs are the most chill. Choose between the indoor dining area with its cosy space, or catch a breeze on the outdoor patio.

Bonus is if you’re a pawrent, you’ve just earned yourself another dining spot for you and your furkid, as the patio is pet-friendly too!
And to match it all, the menu has French home-style sharing plates. Start things off with either the Hot or Cold starters.
For the Hot starters, anticipate dishes like the Tapioca Fritters (S$12), the Zucchini Flower (S$24), and the Chorizo and Basil Cake (S$18).

Or if you’re looking for a cold treat, Cold starters like the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo (S$26), where the scallops are drizzled in yuzu kosho dressing and orange juice and the Sardine Toast (S$18).

The starters are definite showstoppers, but the true star of the show is the La Terrace Signature — the Half Roasted Chicken (S$58).
As Chef-Patron Julien Royer of La Terrace said: “A simple roast chicken is one of the best ways of bringing people together.”

And no truer words have been spoken. As the only main dish available, the roasted chicken sits in a cast-iron pot of fragrant Niigata rice and is finished with thyme-infused jus.
It may look simple, but don’t be fooled by appearances. With the chicken’s crispy skin and its tenderness, you’ll be hooked by this perfect centerpiece of a dish.
Keep the night going with the selection of Sweets available. Three desserts to end on a sugar high include the Pariterole (S$14), the Lemon Tart (S$14), and the Freshly Baked Madeleines (S$16).

Gin enthusiasts, get ready. La Terrace will practically be your happy place as you’ll be giddy with glee (and maybe indecisiveness) from their Gin and Tonics range. With 25 options of various flavour profiles, good luck picking just one.

So, what’s stopping you from booking a table at La Terrace already?
